2008-2009 Housing Room Sign-Up Thread

If I can't get a single apartment I'm going to lose it and kill everyone in the housing department...

so i'm thinking of trying for a sproul double but my signup time is 3:30 pm tomorrow. if i can't get that, its either a dykstra double or a sproul triple. is dykstra not that bad if you're in a double? i've heard its like falling apart basically. if i'm in a double i dont see it being terrible, but then again sproul is pretty nice however i might get freshman roomates. too many decisions!

anyone have any opinions on which they would prefer, dykstra double or a sproul triple? :)

dykstra is ghetto. but at least if you're in a double, your lofted bed will not fall on your sleeping roommate (true story- not mine, but true!)

it all comes down to who you live with. a triple with cool people in a cool building is great, but a triple with annoying people in a cool building, not so much. so if you end up filling a triple, facebook the people who have already partially filled it to see if you're compatible.

Yes! Best room in Glenrock West, with a gorgeous view of Westwood. I'm happy.

Got a double studio in Gayley towers, mostly for the proximity to campus (and I might get an off campus meal plan because I'm so close to DeNeve). Considering I have little familiarity with the building, I'm a bit nervous, but hey, its cheaper than the dorms, so i'm happy.

Hey all, my signup time is tomorrow and I've been looking at the available room check to see what's filling up.

I'm hoping for a rieber terrace double--on the available room check, it only shows rooms in RT west, are east not available or just not shown on the available room check?

maybe they've closed it for now so everyone has a chance to get into terrace? the rooms available aren't even all on the same wing, it just looks like they randomly assigned "west" to them.

rieber terrace has a north wing and south wing.
every room is designated west.

toxic_waste - what's there is there. they won't close off rooms and save them for another day. :/

Can you sign up your suitemates as well, or is it just roommates?

You can add roomates into your basket, as if you were online shopping.

^ But what about suitemates, as in double shared?

yes you can

liyana is living in the opposite side of rv suite from me :(

stupid 5pm

hey i'm just happy as hell to get IN to RV! yayayayayayay :D

I have lottery!!! You guys don't know my pain! :( :( :(

Looks like RT doubles may fill up b4 my sign up time at 1:15 today.

RV or De neve? I'm looking for as social a plaza as I can get (so i'm thinking cedar or dogwood if I go de never). Is RV really that much worse than RT? Or is it just the bad cell phone coverage and a lil bit older?

I live in Vista now. Not too much happens. I like it more than Terrace because I'm closer to the garbage chute and the elevators. Other than that, they're pretty similar, although you have two RA's in Terrace.

vista has one lounge, RT has two. vista has worse cell reception (but i think this may only be a problem for at&t people?). vista is also closer to rieber hall which will be renovated next year.

de neve isn't terrifically social, but if you can get a double there, more power to you. de neve doubles are a great thing to have. last year, however, i noticed that on our floor in birch, all the sophomores with doubles were really anti-social...

Oh yes, the second lounge. I don't think I ever went in that one even though it was closer to my room. But Terrace is considerably better, in my opinion. It seemed cleaner and quieter and yes, it had much better reception. However, the stairs on the south side of the building only go to the second floor, if I remember correctly, so you always have to either take the elevator or walk all the way to the other side of the building.

need a roommate for rieber terrace triple. pm me if you're interested.

Vista rooms aren't smaller than Terrace, are they?
And which building's more social?
