<p><em>sigh</em> After hearing nothing from district or state, I emailed the state chairman (couldn't find anyone for district.) He responded within a few hours with a very heartfelt, apologetic email, but told me I'd never made it to the state level. He did admonish the district level for never saying anything, however. Oh well...good luck to you all!</p>

<p>This is very strange. My D's name is not listed on any of the Oklahoma Districts but I did see the name of the other student that also received the letter. Oh well...she received a letter from the Oklahoma Elks Assn so I'm not going to worry about it.</p>

<p>Jenkster, is your name listed if you search all of OK? The other girl from my school is one of the names listed without the year so I assume all the names without the year are from 2008. I spoke to a leader from the local lodge this evening and he said since the letter says "allocated award" that it is probably an additional allocation from the state. </p>

<p>haha that's interesting. but what does "additional allocation" mean. I'm not on the list either, so what are we? Did he ever say that your D moved on to national stage? and did your friend receive the same letter as your D?</p>
<p>I will have my D check about the other letter tomorrow and let you know. The local leader did not even know that the letters had been sent from the State so I didn't ask about national. Who knows????</p>

<p>That list isn't up to date for all lodges. DD won last year and is still listed. The lodge had two winners, but I know the other one did not get anything for the district level, but did for local and state. So our lodge had two state winners.</p>
<p>hmmm.. i'm wondering when i'll find out for sure.</p>
<p>Jenkster - My D found out that the other girl from her school received a RENEWABLE award - $1000/4yr. Since my D's is non-renewable I would assume that it was more of a commended performance (my description) award. I would love to think that she still has a chance for a national award, but I doubt it. We are very thankful though for the $1000!</p>
