2009 Fall Transfer To NYU

I live in Rochester, NY which is like 5 hours away from NYC.
I put 3.3 as my HS GPA (that’s about what I thought it was) but I never received my final transcript. My adviser just replied and told me it was a 3.54. I failed a semester of history my freshman year after we switched history teachers, but ended with a 3.8 junior 4.0 senior year. So I had the upward trend thing.

so I spoke with the registrar’s office today. They promised to Fedex my transcript free of charge and call the NYU Admissions office to register that the fault was theirs, not mine. Do you guys think that the (extremely) late transcript have a negative impact in my admissions decision?

oh its worth noting that they have a faxed copy of the transcripts, they just don’t have the official copy. The incompetence of the UCSB registrars office is truly staggering.

How are you all going to pay for NYU if you get in? I don’t believe I could afford going there anymore if I am accepted, and NYU is notorious for lackluster financial aid, especially for transfers,

I´m tinking of geting a job…

lol that better be a damn good job… and fortunately for me my parents are committed to paying for my undergrad education. I didn’t even apply for aid because there is no chance of me getting any.

Is it true that if I can log in to NYU website by using randomly given university ID, can I actually know whether I got accepted or not?

You mean nyu home site let you create a net id using your university id number? Did you get accepted and pay your deposit and enroll formally to the university? I heard that even though you are accepted unless you enroll you can’t make a net id. I may be wrong.

has anyone else gotten in"?!!?!

have anybody recive a letter yet?

i should probably stop compulsively checking this thread–us potential sternies aren’t going hear from NYU for a couple weeks…

bluewolverine is right, you can’t get your net id even with the university ID given to you. Even after my acceptance, I wasn’t able to do so.

You guys might want to call the admissions office and check to see the status of your application.

Some people are spreading out this rumor that if applicants can create a NET ID at NYU website it means they got accepted. I guess it’s not true though. Thank God because I could not create Net ID lol

i don’t want to alarm anyone. but capwoo, after i tried to create a netID…I successfully did and now created a password. and now i’m logged on to the site and have an email address under ***###@nyu.edu…

does this indicate acceptance?

I just tried to get my NETID again, and it went through.

AoDay, does it say anything about congrats, or what school your in, etc? in your inbox, you only have 2 emails. one that says welcome to nyu net or something, and one that says maintenance, right?

I already got my acceptance letter, but yeah those are the only two emails I have.

Am i just pulling strings?
I have not received my acceptance letter/package, yet I created a NetID, was assigned an email, and have access to the NYU Network.

You guys really shouldn’t be trying to access your Net Id’s…
