I’m biochem with pre-med. I had a 4.0 at a top 25, and did pretty well in HS (got into similarly ranked schools) if that helps at all. Really don’t know why I found out so early, they didn’t have my second semester grades so honestly I think it’s pretty random.

ohh thanks elwaffle- that’s great! well, congratulations!!!

It says on the ND website that decisions are made by the college that one applied to and I think the College of Science is notorious for releasing their decisions before the College of Arts and Letters. My friend recieved her letter from the College of Science a couple weeks ago, but I applied to the College of A&L and still haven’t heard anything, but then I sent my final grades in last week so it may be a bit longer before I hear back. Good Luck!

I transferred a while back and most of us didn’t get on campus housing. I love dorm life but living off campus was so tight. One word of advice…if you don’t get on campus housing, call one of the off-campus housing areas (I did Turtle Creek because it was the best) and get dibs on a townhouse or something. If you do that, you can send out a mass email to all the other transfers who didn’t get on campus housing–the transfer committee will gladly give you the names. That way, not only will you get to screen the coolest people to live with you, but you’ll also be well known. I ended up renting out a four person townhouse in first alley at TC and had tons of tranfers email me about living there. I got the coolest sounding guys and we had the best time ever. We ended up moving into Keough after that but it was still one hell of a semester.

Good luck on getting in…you’ll NEVER regret transferring. Notre Dame will change your life. WE ARE ND!!

I see thast you were accepted to several great schools. Have you made your decision yet?

I’m going to Vandy, but Notre Dame was one of my top pics and I’m definitely happy to have gotten in. I really saw them as pretty much the same school, putting religion aside, so it came down to South Bend vs. Nashville… and I’m not a fan of the cold.

Just fyi an email went out today including 49 email addresses of accepted transfers. Don’t think they’re done reviewing yet, like it might of just been science, but whatever. They’re obviously open to revealing who else got accepted and quite a few have already committed… Good luck to all you guys! I’m sure you’ll love it.

Does anyone know if housing is assigned on a “first come, first serve” basis? It seems that anyone applying to the College of A&L would be at a disadvantage if the College of Science applicants were notified serveral weeks ago? I am hoping decisions will come soon!

Has anyone applying to A&L heard anything yet? Good Luck to all!

yeah i heard from A&L last monday - i was denied again.

I thought that housing was assigned by a lottery system but I’m not positive. I applied to A&L but I still have not heard anything from them either… I leave on vacation next week and I won’t be back until the end of the month, so I really hope we hear soon because I just don’t think I’ll be able to relax without knowing ND’s decison…nuts!!!

I also applied to the A&L and haven’t heard, so hopefully it just takes longer for the acceptance letters! I’ve already been denied 3 times, so this time could end the “dream.”

This may be a weird question, but does anyone know if they would send a large or small envelope for admission? I’ve received 3 small envelopes for my denials but didn’t know if there would be a packet with an acceptance letter…

My acceptance letter came in a packet but that is now more than 5 years ago (I am freaking old!!!)

it was a big packet but it wasn’t as big or as exciting as some other schools make it. what’s really awesome is they include your transfer credit evaluation with the letter though!! i’ve only had that done with one other school. =)

Wow that does sound pretty cool, Does the acceptance packet include financial aid info?

I got my acceptance packet today! It comes with a lot of stuff, although I did not see the credit evaluation stuff.

Congratulations crail5!!! That is so cool that your dream has come true, if you don’t mind saying, I was wondering what part of the country you’re from… I’m in ca and trying to guess when I might receive my decision : )

Thanks a lot! It feels so weird after 3 rejection letters - still hasn’t kicked in. I’m from northern KY, just south of Cincy. The letter was dated on June 2nd, so I think you will hear really soon. I think it’s a good sign that it is taking this long for you because there were several letters in the packet. If you receive a big envelope, jump and scream!

Remember they do more of a rolling admissions with transfer apps, they don’t send the letters out on the same day (or at least they didn’t used to). That being said, they should be deciding soon. Congrats Crail5!!!

congrats elwaffle and crail5! i’m anxiously waiting for the mail today. i’m biochem/premed also [i think elwaffle you said you were] so that makes me kind of nervous that I still havent heard. i got into vanderbilt so if anything i’ll be going there next year, ahh being new is going to be scary. what made you choose one over the other?

runrun you got into vandy, which i know is less selective, but seriously just think about the warm weather you’ll be enjoying if you HAVE to go there… i guess they’re a bit different and i can see why you’re stressing but seriously don’t overthink it, you’ll be fine whatever happens!! i can’t really say anything but positive things about vandyyy… are you going to be a sophomore?? seriously like get in contact with me if you decide vanderbilt i’d love to meet another biochem (they don’t have biochem at vandy, blech) and premed transfer.

i’m from the chicago area so i don’t mind the weather but going somewhere warmer would def be a plus.
yea i’m going to be a sophomore, and if i decide to go there i’d love to know someone in the same position as me so i’ll update you with my decision.
anxiously waiting the mail… AGAIN.
