2009 PSAT Scores and Discussion

Hello guys…I got a 147…and I bought the BBv2 and Princeton review 2010 books. And also the direct hits both volumes.

Math is my highest score like a 50 and the others (CR and Writing) are round 47ish or so. Should i practice (under a set time) or without time limit? Which book should I start using first? PR or CB2? “howmuch” practice should I do once a week? like 1-2hrs on the weekend?

Thanks in advance!

I would practice without a time limit to get an idea of the format and get used to the types of questions, and once you feel you are ready, you can start focusing on time. Honestly, it probably doesn’t matter which book you use; there is a thread somewhere on this forum that talks about all the different prep books. How much you want to practice is really up to you, just avoid doing too much and getting burned out

dwarfwarr1- when are you taking the SAT? Are you a junior?

do you guys have the 2007 PSAT Practice Test/2004 PSAT test answer key?

Yes, I’m a junior, and I’m taking the SAT in May. Since my score was pretty horrible, I want to improve my score as much as possible by May.

I’m taking the SAT tomorrow. I’m going for the 2400. I’d be pretty dissapointed if i didn’t since i got a 240 PSAT.

plannerboi, It’s fine to set such an ambitious goal. Do not, however, be disappointed if you fall a bit short.

plannerboi, I share your ambition haha. this was my first SAT though, so I’m not too upset that I screwed up the first of the writing sections (I didn’t realize theyd be 35 questions instead of 20ish in the same amount of time…)
However overall I thought it was pretty easy, especially vocab.

Quick question, for anyone who may know… I know one of the two multiple-choice, 25minutes writing sections we took will not be counted for our score, is there any way to tell which? I’m sure Ill find out in a few weeks but in the meantime it would be nice to know.

Okay…everyone, I know you’ve been discussing all the results for practically a month now.

I just want to rant for a moment: I haven’t even received my results yet!

There are about 800 in my class…but I think only about 150 or so took the PSAT. I know for a fact (the counselor told me this!) that they received them over winter break–which was over three WEEKS ago. In fact, I also know for a fact they have all the score reports organized already.

However, the office won’t hand the results out for at least another week. =P And that’s if I somehow convince my mother to attend an after-school, one-hour meeting, where school administration will discuss the “meaning” behind the scores.

Is there anything I can do? Any way I could possibly access my score report online? Or contact CB? Any authority to whom I can express my (extreme) frustration?

Thanks for listening to me vent. Any suggestions will be appreciated. =)

There isn’t anything you can do at the moment. Scores become accessible online without a code next month.

Sorry for the long wait.

Thanks, silverturtle. Not quite the answer I wanted to hear, per se, but thank you for the information. =)

225, but that was before I started studying for SAT.

LMAO. 204. Most shameful record to date for my SAT exams

212 in SC…what do you guys think? Semi-finalist or just commended?

It was 211 last year, so you have a very good chance of making Semifinalist.

is 99th percentile a guarantee? or just an estimate?

It’s an estimate. 98.5+ rounds to 99.

216 in california lol
gg for me this year

238, one careless mistake in math. And then I started studying for the Sats, and probably did worst on the Jan one (already a -2 SC, -1 W).

The College Board notified me last week that my petition was being reviewed by ETS.
