2010-2011 Auditions

Just in case anyone was wondering about the questions that people were getting, I auditioned last week and they asked me first why I wanted to go to CCM and secondly what I thought my strongest area was (dance, voice or acting).

D got an email yesterday - she is on HOLD! Final notifications by mid-February.

My D got that same e-mail - after waiting to hear since Dec. 4th! Aaargh- more waiting…

D got the same email as well . . .

This is good news guys…you are still in the running! :)

My D just auditioned for CCM, Mr Berg asked her three questions, How would you describe yourself, why CCM, and what can you bring to CCM.Thought the last question was interesting, does it really matter how many question they ask ?

I was asked the same exact questions at NYC unifieds…
Have you heard anything yet??

My D auditioned at LA unifieds and was asked “What 3 words best describe you?” and why do you think CCM is a good fit for you – or something like that. The rest of the interview was just answering her questions about CCM.

Do you know if everyone was asked those same questions?

I was not, and I have a friend who had a long chat and many questions and was rejected, so I would say it means very little–just for them to see more of who you are.

A friend of my D’s auditioned at LA unifieds and received an “on hold” email a couple of days later. My D auditioned at LA unified, but hasn’t heard anything yet.

I know someone also whose son got a “hold” email a couple days after the LA Unified.

What exactly does “on hold” mean?

My understanding of “on hold” is that (1) you are being considered and (2) a final decision will be made when the auditions are completed. It’s a pretty good place to be for the present.

I think CCM’s “on hold” is pretty much what they call “deferred” at other schools.

But I don’t think they are waiting until all of the auditions are done to let people know. What we heard was that they would make decisions about the Dec. 4th “on hold” group (and maybe others?) in mid-February. Seems that they wanted to wait until after the Unifieds. But still no word, since they postponed their meeting last Tuesday where they were going to discuss applicants…
