2010 amc 12a

is you get 2.5, I would’ve left the entire contest blank lol

They used to have negative scores for wrong answers and 0 for blank. People could/did get negative scores.

Scored a 130.5. I have an answer key if anyone is interested, although since some people may have not started yet, you’ll have to ask me for the specific problem and describe it so I can make sure you have taken the test.

^could you send me the answer sheet in a PM? I wrote the thing today at Vincent Massey high school in Windsor, Ontario. There is a question with toads/frogs, one about archery competition, first one is all that addition/subtraction, there is a q. about area (50%/20% question) and i didn;t look at any past number 14 cause i suck at math lol.

Xeaqs8
can u send me the answer sheet as well?
i took it this morning and i dont wanna wait for my score
of course i’m a senior and scores arent that important but i still had fun :]

man, i scored 51! I got 80ish on a practice one! complete fail!

Wow. I completely messed this one up. Taking calculus for the last half-year has basically made me forget all the problem-solving skills I had. I completely blanked out non easy geometry questions! Plus, it was much more difficult than I had anticipated. Oh well, at least there’s always 12B.

whats the diff. between 12A and 12B? and how the hell did i drop 30 points from a practice to the real thing???

I’m so mad…

totally bombed. 20 points lower than I’d EVER gotten on an AMC. Misreading questions, forgetting a square root… after going back and doing them all, I just get more and more upset.

But there’s always the B date.

what score did you get stix?^^

115.5… I’m a slow thinker. I was happily working away, on about number 20, when 5 minutes was called. Aside from that, they all seemed pretty doable.

Lucky you guys my school doesn’t do B date.

man, i had no clue how to do almost all of those questions. i only knew how to do around 13 of them. i got 51! do you guys know if there is a link that shows percentile scores or the average score and the like?

can somebody tell me about the x^2+y^2=k^2?
or pm me?
thx

I suck at math.

I managed to do 12 of them (almost 13, did a huge facepalm when I figured out how to do number 19 with 2 minutes left and realized I hadn’t bubbled anything yet). FYI, the x^2 + y^2 = k^2 one was 4. I think I got about a 90. (AMC B is much easier. hahaha.)

The frog one was interesting. 3 frogs, yes?

not suppose to talk about specific questions.

sorry. As you can see by my zero post count, I’m a little new here. ;)

PM me - why was it not 4?

the answer to the k^2 one is 2.

man, you guys say 90 sucks…try 51!

Because the answers said so. I’m not sure either, I got that one wrong too.

121.5 for me, down 15 points from last year, which is sad, but it seems like a lot of people didn’t so hot.

I got like a 40 my freshman year. It was kind of embarrassing.

Even worse was the AMC 12B I took last year. The qualifying score was 100, and I somehow got a 99.5. SO frustrated.
