Wellesley has gone to the wait list!

Emmybet: Congratulations to your daughter! I guess this complicates things.

Congratulations to all the other kids who have gotten good news from their waitlist schools.

so wake forest is for sure no going to their waitlist at all this year???

Congrats unlocked!

wat abt wake forest!!!

wat abt wake forest!!!

I know that a girl at my son’s school was offered a place at Wake Forest off the waitlist…She will be attending.

^^^ do u know when she was offered a spot?? and is this accurate info

Yes, I just spoke with her mother to confirm. She had put a deposit down at a school in New England and Wake Forest called her last week to offer her a place off their waitlist.

My daughter has been on the Occidental College waitlist and she just picked up her voicemail where there was a message from Oxy offering her admission! It’s been her number one choice, but there was no mention of any $, so I’m assuming that none is being offered.

On May 1 she accepted admission to UC Santa Barbara, and even paying the non California resident tuition at UCSB, it costs less than Occidental. She’s my first of two daughters and this whole admissions process has been quite a journey. It’s been sooooo different than my own experience when I paid about $600 in fees for a year at UCSB!! (Yes, back in the dark ages…ha ha).

She has also been waitlisted at Colorado College…

My second daughter is a high school junior, so when the decision becomes final for D #1, we’ll begin the journey once again! The posts and forums on College Confidential have been very helpful…Thanks to all of you who share what you know!

Here’s some info that I picked up this afternoon: I read a post on the UCSB forum today that UCSB is not going to the waitlist this year: Here’s a copy of the post:

Dear Waitlisted UCSB Student:

Thank you for your interest in UC Santa Barbara.
Now that the May 1 national SIR deadline date has passed we are able to respond to your request for admission. The number of students accepting our admissions offer has exceeded our expectations and, as a result, we are not able to offer any additional enrollment spaces to waitlisted students.

Please know that if UC Santa Barbara remains your goal our staff will be very happy to discuss with you future transfer options. We extend our best wishes to you as you pursue your educational goals.

Sincerely,
Office of Undergraduate Admissions

So, to add to the list:

UC Santa Barbara: Will not use waitlist
Occidental College: Waitlisted students are beginning to be offered admission
Colorado College: ?

Good luck to all of your children!
