Alright, cool thanks. Sucks that I think the other question I missed was a simple find the slope between two points - I’m pretty sure I forgot to make it negative.

@silenex: Depends on the curve really. I personally think this time’s was harder than the Oct 2010 one, in which I got -2 due to stupid mistakes and scored 750.
@debater27: Yeah i got 1/3 as well.

so i chose h as 108, and k as 106. then added the numbers to get 214, then got 4. i know this isn’t very complicated, but im confusing myself over and over again. so the answer was 4 right?

I think i am pretty sure that the overlapping one is one.
(30-22)/4/2=1 because there are two parts overlapped with each other.

@debater27: Yes.

omg im so happy to see someone else put 2/5 lol, we can be wrong together =] im jk, im kind of ****ed, thats my second one, the other one was the sequence thing

i just tried plugging in the slope 4 or -4 question, and i put slope 4 because i thought the slope had to be positive in order to run through the vertex and hit y intercept of -5. is this wrong?

vicky, I’m not sure what you are doing there. I still think it’s 2. There were 4 total overlaps. 30-22=8, 8/4=2

@vicky_ltn: There are two parts overlapping, but one of those parts is counting towards the length.

yup i did the same thing too drillkid. whew! i kept changing answers for that one

@debater27: Do you remember the question because I think I got 4 for some slope question as well. Was it a fill in?

@ Rennir

No it was multiple choice cuz the answer was -4, which cant be filled in

Yeah, it was MC.

If the second point (greater X value) has a lower Y value, the slope is negative. Really stupid mistake on my part, but I was rushing.

I seem to always get the easiest questions wrong.

what did you guys put for the g(x)= f(x)+1 what is the knew y-intercept?
and what value can y not be y=x^2-1?

yeah it was a mc because i remember the options being 0, 1/4,-1/4, 4, -4 or sthg.
^that mc was about the parabola and the two points. something like, what’s the slope of line l that goes through the vertex?

however, i also recall putting 4 in a fill in section.

@ Silenex

Yup, same. So far, all the answers here are what I put, but I probably made a dumb mistake on an easy one.

@caveat i remember putting a 2…but maybe it wasn’t that question.

@caveat the +1 just shifts the graph up one, so the answer was whatever the y-intercept of the graph was + 1. I think the answer was 3? I can’t remember for sure.

Tell me about it Silenex. I always miss 1 or 2 due to silly mistakes. Very irritating.

Caveat, the new y intercept would be one higher than f(x) y intercept. I believe it was 3 (I think I recall f(x) being at (0,2)) but I can’t say I’m absolutely positive about the numbers.
