2011 SAT March: Writing

It was the one without a “they” in it, and I think there was a - in the answer. I don’t remember the answer exactly though.

But it couldn’t have had “they” in it because there was never any specification of who “they” was.

@hannahbanana the Madagascar sentence definitely implied causality. The only reason Madagascar would have different animals from the mainland of Africa is because it separated from it. DUE TO was the only answer choice that expressed cause and effect.

Just curious, what is the highest score you can get if you omit the essay in the writing section?

FOR EVERYONE WHO HAD EXPERIMENTAL:

I know that the e-books was experimental. But which one came first, the car passage or the e-book passage?

lawl. i wish the essay was experimental.

I would also like to know which section came first. Was it the cars?

Did anyone get a different no error? I can’t remember if I had 2 or three.

there was one that had an error at “for what.” THis was when comparing two time periods, i think.

Can someone direct to me to some sort of chart that shows the MC raw + essay scaling

Could you guys go over questions from the 14 question one at the end? I feel most of these are from the 35 question section.

Also what is -5, 1 omitted? 10 essay

hey do you guys remember the one where it was like…the 1950s was a time WHERE. i put wrong since it should be when?

tea, i thought it should have been when as well

“In what has been called the triumph of science over sentimentality, Pluto has no been dubbed a dwarf planet.”
I think the pluto one read more like:
In what scientists called a triumph of science over sentimentality, Pluto, was dubbed a dwarf planet.

Can anyone remind me of what the e-book paragraph was about?

■■ anyone remember the anwer to the transition between paragraph 2 and 3 for cars!!! dam…i put personal experience???or w.e C is?

and what about the meats and desserts one??? i think i put E? or w.e -----the family? anyone rememebr the choices?

The e-book passage was about some guy who had never heard of rechargeable batteries trying to argue that books are better than e-books.

BTW was the question about the people at the airport being relieved about the workers not going of strike in the experimental section? I had no clue for that question and put E (I did that on a LOT of questions in that section, now that I think about it).

Does anyone remember that BS question talking about that dude getting distracted in the library when studying. That question literally got me so distracted just thinkking about someone getting distracted.

“i thought the not hinted at was an error
it was something like
Most people only know T.E Lawrence from the film Lawrence of Arabia, but T.E Lawrence had many hobbies not hinted at in the film.”

That question was no error FOR SURE… other people read it wrong.

@liv4physics… I got the same thing!!!

Hey for the Madagascar question, the consensus is that the right answer was “Having separated”

But I feel like I picked “Having been separated”

Was that even an answer choice? I feel like I picked A, which was the original sentence. Was that wrong? Or am I just remembering the sentence wrong

The Pluto one…

The sentence was “In what HAD been called a triumph of science over sentimentality…” since it was past tense, I thought the “has been dubbed a dwarf planet” made no sense.
