2011 UCLA Transfers: The Central Thread for Discussion and Decisions

I think everyone can make a bruin card.

not anymore. I could make one but now I can’t

Ya my fin aid and now my major appears in the myucla/ursa. I remember they talked about this last year I just can’t remember if they decided it meant anything.

yeah i think the reason why all of the comm college counselors are saying UCLA will release decisions on the 29th of april is because Berkeley is scheduled to release decisions then. and from my knowledge UCLA applicants have always (for the most part) found out if they got into UCLA BEFORE they found out about Berkeley.

Hmmmm, I get logged out every time too. Decisions soon perhaps??

I can’t :(. Screen shot? I’m curious to see what it looks like. I get an error saying I’m logged on somewhere else.

Everyone can make bruin card because you can use it if you go to summer school

I get the same message. I hope it doesn’t mean anything bad

beatpedo-I am not going to summer school at UCLA.

ella89- cant make a bruin card? Does it say its only for current students?

What would be the easiest way to post a pic?

I can make a bruin card if I just start directly making it. If I try to click my account I get an error. But they’re right, it doesn’t mean much because I’m making a bruin card for a summer program I’m doing at UCLA this summer.

oh I am entitled to a ucla address?

I’m saying that’s why people can create a bruin card…for ss

Why was everyone in such a frenzy assuming they’ll come out today at 5 but now given up that hope, before we can even know if they’re to come out at 5 today?

Something weird on the BruinCard:

After logging into URSA, I’d click on the BruinCard Account link. The window would pop-up, and I’d see the “Apply for Card” link. When I’d click it, I’d get a message about it only being for UCLA students, faculty, and staff, or something like that.

I happened to load URSA on my iPad and went through the same process, except on iPad, I was able to view the photo submission page. I tried it again on my Mac in Safari, and it still didn’t work. I tried in Firefox and Chrome and, surprisingly, it worked as it had on iPad.

I cleared out all cookies related to UCLA in Safari and tried again. Now I’m able to load the photo submission page in Safari, too.

My guess: The first time I loaded the page earlier today, I wasn’t in the system. Now, something’s changed. However, the not-in-the-system state was preserved in a cookie. Once it was gone, it re-checked to see if I was in the system.

So: If you’re not able to load the Apply for Card/Photo Submission page, clear out your cookies. It just might show up.

That said, this still might not mean anything. All it suggests is that, for me, something about my entry in the BruinCard or Enrollment database changed between this morning and now. It could just be an error in programming (e.g., students without an admission status cannot access the page, but students with a decision [even if s/he’s declined] can). Still, it’s a little reassuring.

So ms sun and others projected today at 5, but they could be wrong

Perhaps it’s because some people called admissions and were told it would be out next week. I actually don’t think people have given up hope that it’ll come out today, but it just appears that way because they stopped checking this thread and reporting back because it’s quite unhealthy to be constantly on edge. They’re probably distracting themselves with other things.
