2012 Decisions!

Small envelope with a big, welcome message arrived today for S. He’s happy, we’re happy, and engineer uncle (Rice grad) is impressed.

Acceptance arrived today! What a welcome surprise!

So happy right now.

Yay! I’m in also. Thanks, RHIT, for squeezing in that extra round!

I got my acceptance a couple of weeks ago. It was my first decision, so I was pretty glad that the whole process started off well.

I have received my acceptance, but never heard nothing about scholarships till now…when should I know if i had a merit-based scholarship (especially int’l scholarship?)

@tobyljj No student has heard about scholarships yet. International scholarship decisions will be made this month. Domestic students’ scholarship decisions will be made in March.

@admissions

Do you have any advice about the rosebud scholarship? I ask because I have to take physics, calculus, and chemistry before August. I’d really like to apply for this scholarship because I match some of the criteria: female, majoring in EE, and I have a definite need for scholarship assistance.

@sparky20

The only advice I have is if you don’t apply, the answer is already no. I don’t have anything to do with the selection process for awardees, unfortunately. So do well in your classes this year, get admitted, and complete whatever process the RoseBud program requires.

And when might the NEXT round of admissions notifications be going out?
-Thanks!

@RHITAdmissions

I just submitted my seventh semester grades, and would like to know when the next round of decisions are mailed. Thank you.

Decisions are going out weekly now.

D applied early and got accepted quite a while ago. Now we’re awaiting detailed information including financial aid (a big part of the equation). When can we expect to hear back with this information? It’s getting close, but some days, not close enough!

At a local event for admitted students we were told Mar 10.

March 12th or March 19th is the last I heard award letters should be mailed out. I am currently out of the country. Feel free to call Financial Aid and ask.

I sure hope it is the earlier date - decisions need to be made.

Please let the merit aid be huge this year.

I’m excited to get started this fall! I visited rose about a month ago, and I was impressed at how many faculty knew my name and my story from my application. So personal, I have never seen this level of caring anywhere. As a returning student, it means a lot. I can tell they want me to succeed.

After my freshman year at Rose I took a two year leave of absence and lived abroad without any contact with the school. I hadn’t told any of my professors about it and expected to just start fresh again when I came back sophomore year. To my surprise, when I came back professors remembered my name and even remarked about how they missed having me in classes. After two years.

So I can second your amazement at the personal attention, sparky20. It’s not just a show for admissions…it’s how the faculty are. It’s awesome.
