Maybe my personal statement was good. I demonstrated how I try to find ways to pay for college. And also how I have already got involved in the activities that related to my Major. Plus my grade trend looks good, I got straight A after the first years. [/li][ /list][ b]General Comments:** Good Luck!!

looks like the plurality is Asian females o_0

@AllFields: LOL!

@AllFields I’m down with that haha

@mmsiphone are you a guy or girl? I always assumed you were a girl but that statement made me double think haha

^^^haha. I think it’s funny how everyone speculates whether another member is male or female based on how they talk. hahah.

Nah I’m a guy. I will admit though that my screen name doesn’t exactly scream masculine haha. It reads almost like miss iphone

^^^ HAHA. miss iphone…I didn’t see it until you mentioned it. Up until you said something it was still unpronounceable to me. =]

I knew it was mms-iphone. But you’re right, either way it isn’t very masculine. This whole time I thought you were a girl.

Mind= blown

Woah, I thought you were a girl too. The usernames, man. There was someone else who this happened with too, wasn’t there?

Aw damn haha maybe I should have called myself MR-iphone or manlyiphone or something. Weird how we all know each other in a really specific way extremely well, but don’t know ANYTHING else about each other.

Worst thing is my fo reals name (Taylor) doesn’t help gender identification at all lol

^UCKitty got incorrectly identified as a girl more times than I can remember

@newsoul UCKittychen?

[li] Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: I am extremely passionate about my major and school career and have it in me to contribute fully to my intended major, all of which is reflected in my personal statements.[/li][/ul]General Comments: I wanted to post my statistics on here because I was once in the position where I was continuously told by counselors and others to rethink my options, that my dream school of UCLA was unattainable to me because of my GPA and lack of attention to school in my first few years at community college - that I should ultimately prepare myself for the worst. I want those of you who are in the position I was once in to know that as long as you have the drive and direction, it is completely possible to achieve what you want and dream of. The best advice I could have received from my professors and mentors was to be my own counselor, and now I’ve accomplished everything I could want for myself - a passion and an incredible school in which to utilize my passion. Good luck to you all and never give up on your dreams, no matter who tells you to believe otherwise.
I am looking forward to meeting my new fellow Anthropology majors! :slight_smile: Go UCLA!

@nicky23
congratulations! you rock. cc counselors at my school are poison. your post is fantastic i hope you spread the word.

@ nicky23: Alright, fellow anthro major! Funny, a counselor told me the same exact same in 2009. They told me that I didn’t even have a chance at CSUF and that I should just forget about UCLA. Today, I would like to say F you to them because I was accepted contrary to what they told me. lol. I believe that IF you have made mistakes in the past, as long as you admit them and make peace with them you can succeed!

@anyone: So what exactly is the “Transfer admit day” thing that is included in the accepted/rejected/waitlisted decision format anyway? Is that just orientation ?

@iDizzle, I think they might be referring to PILOT day, unless UCLA plans to hold that ‘transfer admit day’. Or maybe it is meant for the orientation, but isn’t the orientation mandatory? :P
