What is the class color?
What is the deal with hair - I see they are going by af standards… Does that mean long is ok as long as you have it put up, and can do it quickly?
Are there any disadvantages to claiming legacy? This is done after the first year, right?
At what point are you allowed to go out with your sponsor?

2012's class color will be blue... you're right on the hair, as long as you can put it up quickly and keep if off the collar... you can go to your sponsor's on any weekend you aren't restricted and are allowed to leave the base

The class color always rotates between GOLD, red, blue, and gray - your class will be blue. The hair standards for girls aren't that bad at all. Just like you said, as long as you can put it up and not take forever doing it, you'll shouldn't run into any trouble. I don't really know of any disadvantages to going legacy, and the shuffle is indeed done after freshman year. The first time you could potentially go out with your sponsor is on Doolie Day Out, halfway through Basic. After that, you'll likely be confined to base until Parent's Weekend at the end of August. Once that's past, you can actually visit your sponsor ever weekend - you get a free "sponsor pass" every Sunday.

Welcome to the boards and congrats on getting in!

okay one:

its yellow, not gold, ask anyone who's looked at it. and that yellow is hard to read on the gray boards, so its unneeded ;)

i believe the rule with hair is it can't touch the collar in the back, and the bulk cannot be over 3 inches.

for legacy, it depends on the squad. i choose to legacy, and the squad i went to does not really fit me well. i'm pretty hua, and the squad is not. but then again i knew where i was going, you know the location, and it takes out the suspense. out of curiousity, what squad?

It's definitely
GOLD!

:) (<--Also gold)

In all seriousness though, it does depend on the personality of the squad. Each one is unique, and some are very different than others. I'm curious what squad you'd be considering too...

yellow

:) (<--Also yellow)

May I ask what exactly legacy is?

You have a family connection to one of the 40 cadet squadrons. Usually a parent was a graduate and you want to be placed in their Cadet Squadron.

What can you tell me about the current Chicken Hawks?

proud chickenhawks! lol. 16 is a tougher squad, but they get stuff done. one of my best friends is a 3 dig there right now, so i'll get his exact feelings and get back to you. they're pretty gung-ho about intermurals, i know that

Zoomie remember you will not be in 16 for your doolie year. If you choose to legacy you will complete your doolie year with another Squadron.

Sorry this is kind of a random question but does anyone know what day the board meets at the academy to review completed applications?

well when they started in october, it was on mondays.. im pretty sure its still that day... they may've added another day per week since t hen
