So some of the schools I've applied to are asking for the 2012 Tax Returns in a couple weeks, however my dad told me he hasn't done them yet. I know there's something that can be signed for people who aren't planning to do their taxes or something, but I don't think that applies to my situation since my dad is planning to get to it. I'm rather confused about what I'm supposed to do now.....anybody know?

If schools are asking for the 2012 tax returns, you will have to get them to the school as soon as possible - that means helping your dad understand the importance of doing his taxes, as it could have a negative impact on your aid if he waits. However, if he does wait, you will just have to send the tax forms whenever he gets them done. The school will probably send an estimated award letter, but it may change once they get the tax return & review it. Some schools won’t give an estimate without the tax form, but most do for first-time freshmen. The best thing to do is contact the schools & ask.
