♠ 2012 UCSB Transfer Decisions Thread ♠

@Northbeach
Great post! I was told by my friends that UCSB has great study abroad programs, and they offer it in many countries. This really makes UCSB appealing to me because I want to do at least a semester of studying abroad while I’m trying to get my BA. It’s not like I will get the opportunity to travel again in the future, so might as well take advantage of it.

That is freaking nice. I hope the EOP program at UCSB is the same exact thing as any other CC is offering. Early registration :slight_smile: means no more crashing in classes and possibly harder professors.

^^^Did we have to check the EOP box on the application? I did not know what EOP was at the time but I do recall seeing something about it on the application. You guys make it sound pretty good, is it too late to join?

^ i am wondering if you guys SIRed to the school already? those who got the EOP emails.

@iDizzle
I think so. At the time, I didn’t really know what EOP was for. My friends and I were working on the application together, and they told me to check the EOP for the hell of it. And yeah! It does sound pretty good. I mean if they are only providing students with book vouchers, that saves at least 200-300 dollars on books.

Nope, I did not SIR to the school yet.

yeah, 300 dollars = one book. hahahahah

^^^ Oh I see. So do you think its possible to still be apart of the EOP program even though I didn’t check it on the app?

That’s why I picked UCSB. The way the campus is isolated and secluded in the wild is pretty cool, and the nearest city is 20 minutes away. The constant incoming ocean breeze is an another plus because I’m getting tired of the smog.

And I think it would be pretty cool to wake up everyday to the sound of wave crashing on the shore.

iDizzle, I think you can apply for EOP once you attend UCSB. You might wanna call them to see if you can.

Lawlking, you finally going to SIR? Lol. School by the beach > School in the city > School in the middle of nowhere.

^^Haha!

I wish I can SIR, but I also gotta account my financial situation too :confused:
Waiting for my financial status

anybody with a hight GPA still waiting?
i feel very frustrating checking up on my status every day

I have a high gpa and still have heard nothing. I check my status religiously everyday.

I have a decent gpa, a 3.6 , and am still waiting. Can’t believe I still have not received a decision. I was honestly expecting to get one way earlier!!! >_<

I have a 3.8 and still pending. My 4.0 mate is still waiting too.

wow, hope you guys with those high GPA’s get admitted. good luck. it must be hard waiting. but pending, is better than, not admitted. and one of the posters called dilapidatedmind noted that last year UCSB had pending applicants into may. this is better than rejections! keep us posted.

I’ve been obsessively checking the admissions page everyday. Ugh, it’s so frustrating. Give me an answer already!!! sigh

@lawl- i wish i knew too =/ it was supposed to come out end of march, but nope! hope it comes out this week.

Update:
One of my good friends (Bio major like me) received her acceptance Thursday. I and our other good friend (also Bio) is still waiting.
I have a high GPA (3.87) all prereqs complete, IGETC certified and TAG completed.
I’ve called admissions twice and have been assured it is totally random.
Also in regards to the TAG (atomic boy specifically) if you met all the requirements for TAG it is approved. Your TAG admits you to the campus…not your major.

can anyone who got accepted see their financial aid yet?
