@Dab456, Do you know anything about their criteria?

I will be 28 when the fall semester starts. Does that make me around the oldest of transfer admits? I’m curious if their will be people around my age when we start classes this Fall?

@zim, i’m 27.

@ Zim I’m also 27…and will turn 28 just before Fall begins.
@Brian I do not know the criteria they wouldn’t tell me that much but I wish I did!
@Dancer how did you not get into Bio with a 3.9? My friend was accepted into Bio (her first choice) with a 3.4! Did you have some pre-req’s not met or something?

I was missing some of the pre-reqs for Biology since at my school it was very difficult to get into the higher level math and science classes. Modesto Junior College has cut so many classes and because of that the rest became very impacted. I couldn’t even get into a basic math class until my third year there. So I was kind of expecting that I wouldn’t get in under a Biology major. But what I’m frustrated at is the fact that I was not even looked at for my alternative major, Nutrition. This major is not very selective at all and is not impacted.

I’m 42, beat that.

Hence your name, backinthegame. Very cool. It’s good to know there will be more people my age than I thought.

^^I’m only 24 but hey, we have proven that its never too late! =]

Hey, guys. Since I didn’t get into UCLA and probably not gonna get into Berkeley this school is my number one now choice (although it kinda already was cause I love SB and have been looking at their housing for the past few weeks). Anyway, I haven’t herd back yet and I’m starting to feel uneasy about how long it’s taking. I applied as psych with TAG so I figured I would get in no problem.

I hope they accept me as my first major choice because I don’t really know if I want to do geography. Also I have taken nearly every psych class my CC offers which means only 1 lower division to do when I get to SB (because my CC doesn’t offer it).

Also, a question… If I do get in a geography can I SIR then change it latter back to psych?

Good luck to everyone that’s still waiting.

Does anyone know if it’s difficult for a transfer students to get apartment housing instead of Residence Hall? I really don’t want to live in a dorm if I don’t get my apartment of choice :(

i’m tagged and my decision is still pending >:(

AcusticKitty,

To get an apartment you have to send in a request then later they do a lottery type thing to choose who gets a place. Also, in order to get a dorm you have to be a junior or senor, meaning you have more than 60 semester units. I think I’m gonna try to get an apartment (because they are so cheap) and if I can’t I’ll get a triple in the dorms. (although I’m not even officially accepted yet)

Why don’t you want to live in a dorms?

@Swagandtag: thanks for responding…I’m a transfer applicant coming from a CCC. So that doesn’t make me senior. I do have more than 60 units. I feel like dorms are much smaller than apartments and I don’t want to sleep on a bunk bed I’ve loooked at pictures and dorms look so small!

@Acoustickitty123 Yeah, they are dorms look really small - i went there and checked their places. But, one of the senior told me that you can definitely rent some place outside the dorm. It might cost a little bit more $$, but they have view and definitely larger space :)

^That’s good! I feel like dorms would be a little too small for a claustrophobic person like myself haha

lol, I really don’t care. If I can live somewhere there I will, even if it’s a closet I have to sleep standing in.

Also, the apartments are cheaper. Take a look…

I know, which is awesome! Ugh, guess we’ll have to see.

Kitty, did you get denied at UCLA too?

Rejected 04/23.
