** 2012 UCSD Transfer Decisions Thread **

Are many CC’ers SIRing to UCSD? I haven’t followed too much the last few weeks since the threads been dying.

I did 2 months ago. It seems most of the people who got in on CC are going to Cal/LA instead, but all 6k+ accepted aren’t on CC so I dunno.

Repost from another thread, as it seems like more people are likely to see it here:

I have a question pertaining to Financial Aid. After submitting the SIR, under “Announcements and Deadlines” of the “My Application Checklist”, it lists May 21st as the “Financial Aid Application Deadline to submit required documents and complete actions.”

Now, when I go to my Financial Aid 2012-13 Checklist, I see that enrolling in Direct Deposit is one of my “Mandatory Tasks”. However, when I try to sign up for Direct Deposit, I get the message: “Only current students and those who have accepted admission and submitted the Statement of Intent to Register (SIR) may enroll in direct deposit.” Anyone know what’s up? (Yes, I have submitted my SIR haha). My main concern is the phrase: “You must complete all mandatory items to receive your financial aid award(s) and disbursement” under the “How to Review your Checklist” section. It also mentions that we will receive notification of our awards via our UCSD email, but don’t we get the account after the SIR deadline?

Thanks in advanced!

Just called to ask how many people opted into the waitlist… they said they don’t have that info right now and don’t know when they will get it… :(

@ragingzero Turned down LA and Berk last weekend for UCSD! Woot woot

^ Sweet!

13days till June 1st…

Anyone know when registration is? Is it after those on the waitlist are notified?

I believe it is in August. So yes, it is after we are notified :)

Appeal denied. Guess its back to waiting on the wait list haha.

UCSD Class of 2014 ITS OFFICIAL!

So did any wait listers who appeal have their message at the front page change back to the “you have opted in the wait list” message?

awww just checked my thing when I read that. Mine was denied too :(

Is it okay that our message doesn’t change back to being opted in? I can’t really call now since I’m at work and they’ll be closed by the time I get the chance so if anyone could give them a call and ask about it I would be thabkful

I just called. She said that she has no idea if it will go back to the waitlist opt-in page or not but it will change when a decision has been made about our waitlist status. So now we probably get to stare that the rejection page until June. lol

Aw how sad lol. I want to stare at “we know you’re an exceptional student” lol oh well as long as I know I opted in

lol agreed :)

hey everyone i’m new to the post! I’m also on the waitlist… sigh so did anybody SIRed to any other schools yet? oh and can we get a refund on the housing deposit if (by some miracle) I do get into UCSD?

I was on the waitlist, i appealed as there was a major error on my app that brought my gpa down , my appeal got accepted and now I am finally going to go to UCSD!! I am super excited. I wish all the waitlisters the best of luck!! I really hope that true deserving talent gets the oppurtunity to earn their higher education at UCSD!

Goodluck guys!

@jeezha Congratulations! and thanks, I could use all the luck I can get <3

@adriecali I’m on the waitlist too and not SIRing to any other schools so I have no idea about the housing thing. I plan to tag if im stuck at a CC for another year. Not giving up on my dream school that easy! lol The good news is its only 10 days until June 1st which is the earliest we can hear about waitlist decisions  hopefully its good news!
