2013/2014 Fall Transfer Thread

both of you guys look in good shape

I’m trying to transfer into CNS from TAMU and I have 48 credit hours and a 3.81 gpa. What are my chances of getting in?

I’m applying to RTF in the College of Communications. Over 60 hours by the end of this semester with a 3.86 GPA, 2 good recommendations, strong essays, lots of extracurriculars…I’m hoping I have a good chance!

@eszterbunny - Why are you transferring form TAMU? Any insight into the social atmosphere of both schools? Thanks

ezter , you look in good shape in fact you’re prolly gonna be one the more competitive admits  good luck

@dfin- The main reason is that I want to major in neuroscience and that’s not available at TAMU, but also because my boyfriend’s at UT and being a liberal/agnostic at one of the most christian/conservative schools in the nation kinda sucks.

@farhan- Thanks! It’s really great to hear that. :)

Hey yall.

I have a 3.8 right now and itll probably be a 3.7 after i get my 30 hours.

I had great essays that were reviewed by multiple professors, and i also had one letter of recommendation.

I was in the psychology club and i had volunteer hours as well.

Anyone know my chances?

1am tonight people might be hearing (according to last year’s posts)

That stresses me out way too much knowing that some people may be finding out tonight/tomorrow morning if they got in or not. It totally shouldn’t…but it does.

same here :?/ …hopefully we do too … It’s really been distracting me lately …

Forgot to post where im applying to:

UGS and Advertising

So I’m talking to my friend and I just compared waiting to hear back from UT to the Hunger Games. I keep telling myself if I don’t hear anything this week then at least they haven’t rejected me yet! I’m in good shape! Just gotta get through this week!

I’ve clearly lost my mind. Ha

So I am one of the seemingly rare and elusive College of Education applicants. I know it is typically considered a less competitive college, but I am still anxious.

I have a 3.74, 31 hours transfering (enrolled in 12). All transfer very neatly into their degree plan. Lots of relevant volunteer experience (volunteering at Elementary schools). I work at an elementary school, I am a first generation college student, I have five years of work experience at the same job (I’m 24, so a little non traditional). I liked my essays and had them edited by different people. The editors enjoyed them, so I assume they were good. I know I’m competitive but can’t help but fear the worst. I am just ready to know the outcome. If anyone has any info on admittance for this college, please share. Best of luck to all of you and may the wait be short!!

babble, you are not the only one losing his/her mind. haha. this wait is driving me crazy too. i cannot even get out of Mystatus

BTW. not to be pessimist, i believe that we might be hearing back later than the last year. I believe the number of applicants has increased. I don’t remember where i read that, but if there are a bigger number of applicants, we may be hearing later than the last year. =S

@Idson, I read that there was a record for the number of freshman applicants, but it is hard to know how or if that will affect anything for transfers. It certainly good, but unless we know, we shouldn’t speculate too much. I have spoken to several advisors and it seemed like mid-april was still a reasonable time. The number of transfer applicants has also fluctuated over the past couple years and yet people seem to post that they hear responses around the same time. Unless there is a DRAMATIC increase, I think we should be okay.

Plus, if I know that I may not hear back for another week or two I may starting eating children.

So, let’s just hope for the best.

Let’s hope. I don’t think i may handle more waiting; I need to move on.

Right?! Do you have other schools to wait on??

I applied to Texas State at San Marcos, UT Tyler, and others, but none is as good as UT Austin.
