The posts from the past couple of years indicate that they were admitted mostly between the 12th and 30th. We just have to be patient. I know it’s hard. I keep checking anyway. They are also dealing with a record number of freshman applicants so they could be waiting to see how many accept the offer. I hope not, because that may mean less transfers get admitted. I think they may allow set number of transfers in either way. I don’t know really. I know it depends on school as well. Some will find out earlier than others. I think I should stop checking my status for a while. Who am I kidding? I’m still going to check it.

Alright a few updates.

Just got off the phone with admissions.

The woman I spoke to knows of NO current delays in the external transfer process.

There was a record of freshman applicants, NOT ADMITTED; thus, there aren’t any expected problems in regard to hearing back.

She said mid april- late april for those with everything done.

So things sound just like normal. I think decisions will roll out later day and throughout this week. Keep in mind at this point last year no one had found out. At about 3:40 pm on the 9th DiabloJoe heard back from McCombs and he was the first person to get a real decision back.

So, and this applies to me more than it may to you guys, be patient.

Hope that helped.

God , it’s getting hard to focus on school with all this uncertainty :/

Good to hear. Thanks for the update!

Late April? I just puked a little bit.

the anticipation is killing me =*(

I don’t get why its taking so long lol tech and tamu give out decisions promptly after deadline lol i know its ut but still its just so nerve racking having to constantly wait for this lol

I feel ya’lls pain! I’ve been super stressed and distracted waiting for a decision!

I am an international transfer. I decided to call admissions, they told me I could hear feedback by the end of april as well.

ok i posted this be4 but i see there are more people posting so i wanted the opinion of the other guys/gals.

first off, how does a 3.6 (31 hours) look for COLA./ UGS (avg essays, no locs, so so ecs)

and secondly,

i got accepted to Tech
and tamuk for petroleum/natural gas enginering (with a major scholarship)

i applied to UT as a cola / undeclared because i didnt think id get in the engineerig as an external

should I go for one of the previous or go to UT if I get accepted

Also, if I go to UT I’d have to take an extra year since I can’t tranfer until I complete 24 hours. If I go Tamuk I can start my major courses in the Fall and grad by 2015/2016.

Im kinda stumped about what to do

plus like petroleum engineering isn’t the easiest major to get into internally

thanks

@farhan123

My suggestion would be to go to UT if accepted. It is known for its Engineering school. Im not sure how the other school rank up next to UT, but personally I would want to go to a top school because employers will be more impressed with a top school.

“In the U.S News & World Report rankings, the Cockrell School is ranked 10th overall for its undergraduate programs and 11th overall for graduate programs.”

If you know for a fact you can get into the engineering program at UT then I would say go for it but that’s a pretty tough call to make. On the flip side you’re wasting a year…do you have any gen-ed classes that you still need to take? Some classes that would be worth your time taking before the engineering program? It would be a shame to waste that money on classes you don’t need y’know?

I’d definitely say you’re between a rock and a hard place. Sorry :/

No not really I’d be taking irrelevant courses if I went to UT for a year besides the organic chem. I’ll have the cal and physics done by fall ia . Idk it’s just that I’m really set n petroleum and I’d hate to have to major in something else if I can’t get into UTs program. What is y’all’s opinion of Tamu kingsville? In terms of engineering

I was accepted this afternoon into CSE today. Transfer from ACC with 3.93 GPA, and 86 hours.

Whoa really? What’s cse? Congrats btw!

Congrats rowen!!!

congrats Rowen!!!

Congrats Rowen!!! Your wait is finally over!

You’ve been accepted for admission into the Cockrell School of Engineering beginning in Fall 2013.

Thanks all!!!

Congrats Rowen!!!

Lets hope there is more acceptances to come :)
