Anyone get off any wait lists yet?

I have not received a call yet, however it is different for every school. I am on the waiting list for St. Paul’s, and they said the earliest they’ll contact the waiting list members is April 10th (or tomorrow). Good luck :)

Yes, I got off of the Taft waitlist. I rejected the offer though. I just found out today-- they called.

My S is waitlisted at Choate. We received email indicating that they did not have enough info yet to determine whether they would be going to WL.

I think you normally get notified April 10th or after (according to what I read on their websites). I am wondering though, how do they notify? Email, call, both? I may be in school, hope i won’t miss the call…

I’ve heard that some schools call and ask for a response within 24 hours.

Did any other schools write that April 8th is the earliest? I don’t understand how Groton could know by then…?

I think the earliest they will know is after the deadline for the accepted students so i guess it might be different for every school. Idk about groton specifically

The letter said that the deadline is the 10th but the earliest they’ll contact people is the 8th… whatever, that was yesterday. :(

The earliest you could be contacted is around April 10, yes, but I remember seeing from past posts that you might not hear anything till the summer. Since that’s quite a bit of time to be waiting… try to relax a bit and preoccupy yourselves with something productive.

the call is from the school office itself or by representatives>?

I was waitlisted at seven schools (and accepted into one that was not my first choice). Yesterday, I got off the waitlist at Loomis Chaffee! Today, I got an email from Taft saying they are not able to take me off the waitlist at this time, and Choate said that they don’t know enough information yet! I’m thankful I got accepted into Loomis, but I’m still hoping for something else to come through!

Has anyone heard from Hotchkiss, Deerfield, Exeter, or Groton? :)

I would imagine the school offices deliver the phone calls since it’s quicker.

Yeah, Loomis called my dad!

So is this like M10 all over again, where some kids are taken off WL earlier than others, but it doesn’t mean any difference?

@bsroxmysox I know, it stinks

Unfortunately, this morning, Deerfield replied to my inquiry via email stating that as of now, they aren’t expecting to go on the waitlist

Also, my mom called St. Paul this morning saying that for now, they aren’t going to select anyone from the waitlist. So sad :(

@ Kingkwon: Regarding Deerfield’s Waitlist - what class, what gender?

SPS says it’s not taking anyone of the waitlist now and unlikely that they’ll take anyone over the summer either.
Here’s the text from the email from the director of admissions:
At this moment we are fully enrolled at St. Paul’s School for next year and do not anticipate being able to admit any of our wait list candidates. I am sorry to give you this disappointing news. While things could change over the summer, I think this is unlikely.

For everyone who gets bad news, my condolences. I hope you heard better news elsewhere! :)
