2014 SDSU Transfer Decisions - POST HERE!

My bestie was just denied :frowning: this sucks. I’m still pending… for now.

No, I didn’t apply anywhere else. San Marcos doesn’t offer Art History, my credits are for a CSU, so UCSD is out. My husband is going to SDSU, so moving out of the area isn’t an option. My counselor basically told me I would get in. I’m determined to go to SDSU… I may appeal, I emailed my counselor asking why she didn’t advise me to get an AA-T, and what I should do next. I wonder if I can switch my worthless AA’s to AA-T’s. I’m pissed, and feeling pretty f’d.

Denied for general business
Gpa: 3.33
Had an as-t
Csu breadth complete

…seriously don’t know what to do now, got into other schools but have been dead set on SDSU for 4 years…

@moniiique‌ that sucks. Sorry to hear it.

@alexisNS yeah. I’m really sorry. Hopefully you can figure something out. I have a couple more schools but I really wanted to move out if my area but I guess we can’t get what we want.

Wow guys I’m really sorry to hear about all this. I know the feeling; I experienced it last year. I would highly recommend appealing asap. You may still get in.

Yikes!!! Does SDSU wait-list transfers?

Denied…
General Business AS-T, backup was Financial Services AS-T
3.69 GPA @ Moorpark College
All Major Prep completed by Spring
IGETC, CSU GE also completed.

I’m crushed. Thankfully I applied to other schools, but this hurts. Anybody have any idea on how to find out why we were denied? I’d just like to know where I went wrong.

Congrats to all who were accepted. Enjoy the hell out of it!

Doesn’t look like they do. But idk what to do, man. I’m getting old. I’ll just have to go to my safety school probably.

@CodyNigh71‌, last year you were able to can in and ask. Im not certain but I think they have the same kind of deal this year.

still says pending for me and CJ majors get a denied or accepted yet?

@jstang909 are you a CJ Major too?

@CodyNigh71‌ I called in and asked why I was denied and they basically said thaf if you had the golden four and CSU Breadth completed it was either for pro reqs or insufficient GPA. Apparently every single person admitted to business general had a degree for transfer or was local service area…

I meant any* sorry
@SDSU69 yes im a CJ major

@Jstang909 do you have a AA-T? Also I am hearing there is a cutoff of any GPA below 3.2. Keep us updated!

Admitted   so hyped!!!

denied. Aat-communications. 3.2 gpa. 3.3 with bump. Live in central California. Accepted to fullerton and long beach. Disappointed but life goes on! Everything happens for a reason

I have the golden 4, GE breadth, 3.4gpa, but was missing one major prep that wasn’t offered at my CC (my counselor said it wouldn’t matter… Liar). AA in art, AA in global languages. Ugh, those two C’s my stupid teenage self got ten years ago… I don’t see why grades from a decade ago should count… I guess I can try to take Asian art there, I’ve heard you can do that some how, and try again for admission next year. I have no more classes I need to take, just that one art. I hate to waste a whole year. I still think I may appeal, but I want to talk to an adviser first

Never mind about taking that class there…
Please Note: Undergraduate students who have been disqualified from SDSU will not be allowed to attend Open University or classes through the SDSU College of Extended Studies’ Special Sessions until one year has passed from the date of their disqualification. Graduate students will not be allowed for one semester following disqualification.

@alexisNS, disqualification is completely different than being denied. Disqualification means that as a student currently enrolled at SDSU, you received really poor grades and were removed. That said, you can still do Open University/Cross Enrollment after being denied. I went down that path after being denied last year.

I would still double check with your adviser anyways, but disqualification is something different. You definitely don’t get disqualified for getting C’s. Also, definitely appeal. It’s still an option, and it gives you another chance to get in.

That’s a relief. Here’s my plan. Talk to SDSU, find out why I was denied. Talk to palomar counselor, convince her to help me personally. Write a killer appeal. Get admitted. Bam. I’ve moved from greif to undying determination Haha. I will update here as things happen, I hate when people don’t post results. What I’m hoping is, SDSU says I would have been admitted with an AA-T, I get my counselor to expedite me one, and I appeal with that. Fingers crossed.
