2014 Spring Transfer Thread

Dee,
I think I sent them! let me know if you got them

Does anyone know the average GPA for Philosophy majors?

Out of curiosity, whats the easiest/hardest schools to get into in terms of GPA? (Ex. A 3.0 will get into _____ while a 4.0 will get into______ )

Bobcat20: I have them! Give me a little time to look over them.

Philosophy majors probably are better off with a 3.5 GPA

Average college GPAs:
Red Mccombs: 3.8-4.0
Nursing: 3.7-4.0
Natural sciences: 3.5
Comm: 3.7
Liberal Arts: 3.4
Social Work: 3.7
Education: 3.6-4.0
Engineering: 3.6-4.0
UGS: 3.4
these are rough estimates based on a student with outstanding and well rounded credentials

It says my application is in for review so I’ll let you guys know when I get a reply.

I have a feeling we all will not hear back till first week in november !

Nooo! What makes you say that?! I WANT TO KNOW SOON.

I wasn’t expecting an admission decision until November either.

I think we are all going to have to show some patience.

Well, my boyfriend had called in asked awhile back and they told him that December will be when decisions come out so I kind of freaked and so I had called in asked. I was told, “depending on if you’re done with the 30 credit hours already, you will receive a decision mid-October to November.” So, who knows!

Stop stressing guys. I don’t even think about admissions right now lol.

What is the lowest gpa accepted for physics majors?

It depends on your credentials, mathguy. The more well rounded, the lower it could possibly be. Lowest possibility on average would probably be a 3.4 or 3.5

Hello,
I submitted a transfer application to the University of Texas-Austin for the spring 2014 semester (before the deadline btw) so every day I have been logging on to my UT EID and then earlier today I logged on and it had said my application was cancelled. What does this mean? (P.S. I did not cancel my application)

Bjohnson, you might want to call as soon as possible.

dee let me know what you think!

Hey dudes

I have a question-if anyone can help me out it’d be greatly appreciated.
Is it easy to double major if the second major you want to do is in the same college?
For example, I applied to Psych first choice, IRG second choice, because I want to double major in those. Say I get into Psych. (fingers crossed). Would it be easy to double major since IRG is also part of COLA? I’m thinking yes, but at the same time I have absolutely no idea.

Please and thankyou.

I’m also “in review” now, and hoping I’ll hear something soon. I’m trying to transfer in with an AA from a Florida school (63 hours), 3.76 GPA, hoping to get into COLA for English and Philosophy. I’ll update here should I hear anything back.

Sooo I woke up to an email from UT this morning and I was all sorts of excited! I open it up and it says they have classified me as a Texas resident and that this was not an official acceptance :0(

Blah no bueno, I’m going to watch the new Walking Dead and think about what my acceptance dance would have been or my rejection alcohol bill lol

lol I’m telling you guys, it won’t be till early/ mid November till we start receiving admission decisions.

Time to chill those t*ts and wait. The 4.0s might get a decision earlier but us in betweeners got to wait. So don’t go crazy opening my status every 15 mins.

Can we just fast forward to when I get accepted Xp
