2014 Spring Transfer Thread

Congrats mathguy1000. You did it. Prepare your stuff and go to Austin now. Lol.

It’s funny cause I haven’t even opened my status in awhile.

Bobcat20, I have sent you a private message regarding your essays.

I had a dream I got a rejection letter and the reason they rejected me was very bizarre.

Would 3.9 GPA (30hours) be okay for psychology? I was told psych is one of the COLA’s most competitive majors. and GPA is like, literally my ONLY spec here. oh and I’m international! (or at least my status says I am. I’m pretty sure I’m qualified for residency, since Senate bill says so.)

Wang, are you asking if you will rejected because your 3.9 GPA will be considered too low?..

fish, I’m worried about my non-existence activities… Like, I literally have NOTHING on my resume and stuff. My SAT tutor back in high school has been really skeptical about it and my not-so-good essays :(

@wang904: I’m not in-the-loop about UT’s attitude toward international students, so I can’t comment on that. But as long as your essays aren’t godawful, if they at least demonstrate that you write at the college level, then I’d say you have a fighting chance. From what I’ve gathered, the resume is not super important for transfer applicants. Sure, it can highlight leadership and work ethic, but it also indicates how many distractions you’re juggling. If you’re focusing on college and earning high grades, then that makes you look good. Best of luck!

Jstalk, what are the details of the apartment?! I might need one if I get accepted and can’t find a place.

Gnomon, I sure hope that dream doesn’t come true!

Texast93, I may be interested in your offer. We’ll have to see if I’m accepted first.

Has the major applied for always been on the dashboard (first page after log-in) next to the View Details button?

Yes your two majors are always present and you can change them at any time.

@gnomon: Thanks for opinion/assurance! My essays are, I think, definitely college level; they are just not that great. :l I’m just hoping to get the decision by mid November… lol

Texas, I might be interested if I get in LOL

Midterm grades came out, and I have a 3.7048 as of now. Is that good enough to get into CNS at UT?

Yes it’s good enough sekrim. CNS normally accepts around 3.6

Sooo I tried checking my status after like a week and I’m getting a server error. Anybody else get this too?

I think they’re starting to review applicants today.

This is on the UT admissions office page: “Most Admissions office locations will be closed or offer limited services Monday, October 21—Wednesday, October 23. Admissions counselors will not be in the office during this time. If you need to speak with someone while the counselors are unavailable, please call the Admissions service line at 512-475-7387.”

Hi Dee, if you could answer this question (or anybody else), it’d be greatly appreciated!-I’m a bit worried.

I want to double major in Psych and IRG.
If I get accepted into Psychology, could I double major in IRG even if that isn’t the program I was accepted into? Since they’re both in COLA, there’s no transfer process right?

Please and thankyou.
