I looked on my account and it’s still incomplete. I wonder how they haven’t received my income form.

Fish: I’m sure it is possible, but I think t double major you have to have a certain number of hours completed in the first major to pursue another. It should be even easier since they’re both within the same college.

What number do I contact if there is a problem with my application?

Dee: I wanted to ask if I have a 3.41 gpa after this semester, is that good enough to get into COLA International Relations/UGS undeclared. I have 3 excellent essays and a excellent 3 page resume with 2 years of work experience and a lot of community service hours. Is that good enough?

Korsgaard: you can just call admissions and the person who answers the phone can help.

CutieAmber: I’ve seen much lower GPAs get accepted, and if you’re as well rounded as you say you are then I’m sure you have a good chance.

Does UT Austin accept transfer applicants that have a “W” for a withdrawal from a class on their transcript?? Even if it was for a legit reason. Not cause I was failing. Lol.

Yes I had a W and was accepted

garciajosh, I’m planning on dropping my lowest class. My lowest class is a B+, but with that class, I have a 3.65. Without the class I have a 3.7. It would probably be beneficial to drop your lowest class if you’re on the edge of the GPA range for acceptance.

sekrim, I understand where you’re coming in wanting to have the highest GPA possible but there is only .05 GPA differential, unless you can see your grade in that class possibly dropping lower in the weeks to come, but I don’t know what school you’re at right now but a B+ is not bad at all and wouldn’t drastically hurt you no even slightly, and from a financial standpoint I’m sure its past the refund date so you would lose $250-450 range of money for that class depending on which university youre attending and the type of class. Personally I’d say stick with it. just apply more time and gauge how much you need to study in order to boost it. More hours on your transcript while maintaining a 3.65+ is impressive in anyone’s eyes. I faced that decision last fall but sticking with it helped me in the long run.
hopefully this helps

Thanks bobcat20,

I just got back from dropping the class so I’m afraid it’s too late now. It was my Computer Science class, and I had more reasons than just the B+ to drop it. I also saw the class becoming exponentially harder as time went on and I don’t think I could maintain the B+ in that class. There was a lot of work and I’m taking 24 credit hours between two colleges at the same time so I don’t want to spread myself too thin. Also I’m applying as a Computer Science/Physics major to UT, and wanted to take the class at UT because I know they had a better CS program there. Plus I want to go to graduate school and I don’t want my major GPA to start out as a 3.33. Unfortunately I don’t get any money back for the class which is a downside.

Another factor is because this first semester is very important because I want to get into UT as a Spring 2014 student. If I was already at UT, I probably wouldn’t drop a B+, and I probably will never drop a B+ again if I get into UT.

Thanks for the advice though, and I’ll keep that in mind in the long run.

Does CNS accept transfers that haven’t taken Calculus? What if I took Statistics instead?? … :/

Garciajosh, I don’t think they do. On the websites it says that you need to meet their calculus readiness requirement. I don’t think statistics would make up for it. How many hours have you taken? You’ll need to have taken diferential and integral calculus. It is usually covered in two courses, but if your school offers it, it can be taken in one course.

When I apply, I’ll have 30 hours. I’m thinking I’ll have around a 3.5 or a 3.6 GPA. Hopefully.

They accepted me in CNS last semester even though I didn’t take calculus yet. Maybe, they accept

So I spoke to admissions today. I didn’t know that if you didn’t have 30 hours already completed for ur transcript that you only have 10 days to basically get in. Now i’m a little worried :(

Idson123, Which math class did you take?

garciajosh. at that time, i only had college algebra, but my pre-calculus class was in progress.

Anyone can message me your credentials or questions if you like! Lurkers welcome too! Hook’em!

Korsgaard, that’s very important. You have to get transcripts in before January 6th, and the semester starts January 13th. You said you go to UT Dallas, right? That means you have to send transcripts as soon as they are out on December 20th, and you’ll probably get an answer very late in December or early January. I’m in the same position. I’m just afraid that my university might not send my transcripts quick enough or something. Especially since I’m dual enrolled in a CC. That means that I have to make sure both transcripts get sent and received quickly so I can get an answer quickly.

Help a girl out!

K guys, got accepted to Texas State… Noticed on my transfer stuff that I totally forgot about the F and one C on my transcript from a super long time ago (I retook them), pulling me down from a 3.7 to a 3.3, anyone get in with that or think I possibly can?

Im freaking out and I’ve already completed my pre-reqs for UT so I need to know if I should start finishing up the ones I need at Tx State.

Also anyone get a letter yet?
