I am confused about this whole 30+ hours admission policy. Who all does it apply to? I will have done 56 credits total by the end of this semester from a community college (no other institutions). Will I get my decision in mid-November or will I have to wait till December/Jan until the semester’s ended?

Chir,

It applies to all those applicants who have 30+ transferable hours. If all of your hours are transferable, which they probably are since you did them at a community college, you will get a decision mid-Novemeber. :)

ah now I’m worried. how do I know if my hours are transferable? I know about that ATE system, but is that just for schools in TX? I went to Notre Dame for a year and have about 30 credits from there, I’m taking 12 credits at ACC this semester, and I’ve got the following scores w/ AP tests

US Govt- 5
AB Calc- 5
Physics B- 5
Spanish- 4
Music Theory- 4

does this sound like 30 transferable credits? I don’t know if I can wait til jan… :(

@llama123, really? Thanks for the reply!

Have you guys applied at other universities or just pinned all hopes on UT Austin?

sufjanlover1

Sounds like you have plenty of credits. If anything, I’m sure you could call the registrar to ask which of your credits are/are not transferrable.

Sufjanlover,

You can call the admissions office at 5124757387 and ask for the courses evaluators number. They only do calls after 12pm or 2pm, I believe. So you can make sure with them.

I was reading the transfer thread for spring 11, COLA guys heard the first about their decisions around the 7th.

So ppl that applied to Cola, check your statuses a lot starting tomorrow. And let us know. Good luck to everyone!

I meant spring 12

I’m COLA! But I don’t know if I should get my hopes up for a decision just yet ahah.

chir490: I applied to Texas State University, got accepted a couple weeks ago. I’ll go there if I don’t get into UT.

Same here @larissas. I’ll be going to Texas state if I don’t get in to UT. I hope I get my decision soon so I can get the ball rolling. Texas state keeps emailing me to sign up for orientation lol.
It sounds like I should find out soon since I have around 50-55 hours and am applying to COLA.

@larissas Oh! I’m heading to College Station if not Austin. Thankfully I have up till December 15 to register for orientation haha

Sekrim-How are you planning on moving all of your stuff lol? Admissions said we have like 10 days left.

When do y’all think UGS applicants will start getting decisions?

I’m not sure. I hope by next week we start to hear something. The wait is literally killing me and also, my current university has spring registration on Monday…I should have a backup in case but registration is so stressful and ridiculous. I really hope I get my decision before then but I highly doubt it. :(

I just looked at the Spring 2012 forum, and the participants started to say that they were accepted on the 13th. I know someone just said that COLA applicants started to receive decisions on the 7th, but I haven’t found that information anywhere. My best guess is that we’ll be given notice next week.

@Brownie45

I wrote that post you are about.

Last years spring transfers didn’t hear until mid November because there was a large pool of applicants. The year before didn’t have such a large pool so they got theirs earlier. Idk about this year. I hope we start hearing next week.

You are talking*

@Crew808 The admissions office acted like this year had a pretty large group as well, but who knows? The sooner we find out, the better!
