Don’t worry about FASFA, just make sure that you had “The University of Texas at Austin” listed as one of the schools that you wanted to send your FASFA information to. If you’ve done this then the University will have it on file. If for some reason it doesn’t show up after you are accepted you can go to your advisor or financial aid services and they’ll push through the loan/grant.

My initial transfer GPA was a measly 3.17 and I’m appealing with a 3.51

Anybody knows about orientation tomorrow. Do students who received Financial Aid have to attend “A Longhorn’s Guide to Financial Aid” session? I know it is very helpful, but it’s at 4-5pm, little late. I haven’t had a place to stay tomorrow. Thanks

Thanh, the orientation fact sheet states that the 4-5 pm Financial Aid session is required for students receiving financial aid.

Has anyone received any further information about orientation other than links directing to the orientation schedule? E-mails, etc.

This link/pdf has all the info on tomorrow’s orientation.

Check-in starts tomorrow at 8:00 a.m. at Burdine Hall, Room 106. I scouted the area today. Burdine is in the Cockrell area just south of Dean Keeton Drive.

Yes. I know. I think I have to stay in motel or somewhere. Thanks

None of the events are really required even though they take attendance. The only things that are really required is the UT EID Upgrade, Student ID, ALEKS Exams (If taking CH 301 or Calculus Math), Advisor Meetings.

You need to attend or do anything I listed above or else you will likely be bared from registration or will be dropped from your courses on day one. In regards to ALEKS, it’s due on the 8th at 11:59PM and you only need to take it if you are enrolling in the first calculus, if you are transferring in calculus credit you do not need to take the exam. All students that are enrolling in CH301 however, MUST take ALEKS.

I really hope I get a decision today or early tomorrow. I haven’t lost hope, but I recognize that this is going to be such a stressful transition at this point. I’m mostly worried about logistics and finding a place to stay. Everything is going to be so last minute because they’ve forced it to be last minute.

Edit: Sekrim, we have the same amount of hours and the same GPA. Over the phone, she told me the exact same process and that they were working on our decisions to get them out the door as soon as they could. Evidently we are the reviewers top priority right now.

LonghornCPhT, that’s good to hear. I hope to hear today or tomorrow too. We still won’t be able to register for classes until we turn in our meningitis forms, upgrade our EID, and submit emergency contact information. And who knows how long it will take for that to process. Finding available classes is going to be a major hassle.

Those are the least of my concern. I’m just going to pick the classes I can and religiously check to see if I can change them during add/drop period. My biggest worry is honestly housing because I’m going to have to find a sublease or sign a new lease.

^^^ google austin apartments sublease craigslist. Tons of options. There is also a UT Austin sublease apartment Facebook page. You should find something there!

I know a subleaser in west campus text 956 212 4781. It’s a nice place. I visited it but I found another instead.

What complex are you staying in, mathguy1000?

Baylorgal, you have to have a UT e-mail address before you can even access any of those UT-Austin facebook groups though. I’ve looked into Craigslist, but I’m not really that impressed with too many of the postings.

I understand that I can’t be incredibly selective because of the time constraints, but there is something to be said about the people you’re going to live with for a few months. Plus all of this is contingent on me even getting my acceptance (hopefully not a denial) with enough time to get a place.

Longhorn, I completely understand. I think you’ll be fine though. I know someone that goes to UT so just get on their Facebook, or use their UT email to quickly look

I was FINALLY accepted today! Im so happyyyy OMG!
Accepted with a 3.41 into international studies at COLA. 3 excellent essays and a 3 page resume (a lot of community service).

Congrats!!! My appeal was approved today as well! Still waiting on the major. I hope to see you on campus!

Congrats!!!

Congrats you two. I hope you get into the classes you need, been a little bit of a pain so far for me trying to fit in the UGS class.
