I was recently admitted into duke, but for financial aid Duke requests 2014 forms (I only have the 2013 ones available). Does anyone have any experience with a situation like this? Thanks!
Per the IDOC site I believe all forms were supposed to be downloaded or sent to IDOC by a March 3 deadline and that was Duke’s deadline not IDOC’s. I would call the FA office and email them as well asap. When you email include your full name, student id@ and I believe DOB as well and be specific what you ask them .Did you do FAFSA ? I know I got an email reply back from Duke FA back in February saying they would start loading all FAFSA the first week in March .
I know with ED they needed completed 2014 forms and would not accept an estimated but may be different with RDS just not sure I’m sure many others on here can confirm.
RD sorry typo
The following information is READILY available on the Duke FA website (https://financialaid.duke.edu/undergraduate-applicants/common-questions):
***Q: What if my taxes aren’t complete until after the application deadline?
A: While we can’t offer need-based aid until all required documentation (including tax returns) has been received, we continue to process applications on a rolling basis throughout the year. Documents received after the deadline will be accepted and processed. If Admission packets have already been mailed, we will email the aid award as soon as all materials have been received and an award can be processed.
If your taxes will not be available until after May 1st, you will not receive a financial aid award before the Admission decision deadline. If this is the case, you can use our Net Price Calculator to generate an unofficial estimated award. If you decide to attend without an official award in hand, we will provide you with an award as soon as the required materials are submitted—even if it is late into the fall term. You’ll need to make arrangements for payment through loans or a payment plan until your aid award is complete.***
Since you’ll soon be a Dukie with all the research requirements that entails, @RunningForLife – and CONGRATULATIONS, once again, on your admission – might it have been wise and courteous of others’ time to check there first?
