^ Yep, 2014 rankings are now live (and it’s not even 9:30 PM!).

Was hoping Duke would break top 5 but Ill take 7th. Ouch at MIT.

Berkeley breaks top 20, is gonna be the big news

. So will Penn State. And Berkeley deserves it. It’s underrated.

Overall there really isn’t anything special about these rankings.

Once again the Duke haters have been proven wrong, Durham Tech Community College has been predicted to drop below 10 just about every year.

Who knew if some ex-coach raped little boys in your locker room and everyone within the athletic department and university administration turned a blind eye and your delusional fanbase defended those actions and rallied around your university, it would help you rise in the rankings.

Wow Northeastern/BU have cracked the top 50. Northeastern has probably jumped up 40/50 spots in the last few years

At this pace, it should be #1 in a few years!!!

Miami #47

sadface

Holy Cross ranked 25th in the Liberal Arts category-good improvement over 2013 rankings. HC is a great school and should continue to rise in rankings.

Northeastern since 2006:
98 2006
96 2007
96 2008
80 2009
69 2010
62 2011
56 2012
49 2013

That’s very impressive. When I looked at Northeastern back in 2009 I wasn’t sold compared to other schools I got accepted to (Purdue, VT, Clemson, Pittsburgh) but I would definitely take a second look now (well if I could even get accepted now. I imagine their admissions stats are skyrocketing since it’s in Boston too)

…
0 2020

Nice that Duke and Stanford are in the top7 ahead of half the Ivies. Also Holy Cross is one of the few school that is still need-blind for admissions-meets 100% demonstrated financial need.

With a brand new campus being built just north of 130th street, four solid years of top 5 ratings at US News and now this year at Forbes, more (and many recent, two in the last year as an example) Nobel prize affiliates than any other university and the continued growth of New York City and its unparalelled and safe cultural and social life, I think the interesting long term question is how long does it take Columbia to move to #1? In 2013, there is no more robust and stimulating an educational environment available anywhere in the world.

Here’s the top 50:

http://colleges.usnews.rankingsandreviews.com/best-colleges/rankings/national-universities/spp+50

Nice five-way tie for the #23 spot.

Ouch UT Austin… Kinda funny how it has so many top 10/20 programs and ends up being ranked 52.

Texas and Washington are tied with #52 Ohio State. TOSU is moving up!! :)

What was Texas last year? I don’t understand it at 52. Much better school than PSU and UCSD, UCD, UCI, UCSB…

Its emphasis on class rank probably hurts it a lot with the new criteria. (75% top 7% of HS class)
