2015 SDSU Transfer Decisions

So much for “early march” as the webportal states… ugh!

soooo annoyed. Argh!

@christinedoz Thank you for contributing to our thread with your insight. You were Health Comm, right? I just scoped the 2014 thread. You must have been ECSTATIC being accepted. A little late, but congrats on your acceptance last year.

Do you know of any local General Comm majors that were accepted as a transfer with ADT? If so, what were their stats?

I want to call to see if their answer is consistent.

I called, but had to go back to work before I was able to talk to anyone (long wait) :frowning: I emailed too. But that probably won’t get answered… sigh

In all of my communication-related classes since last semester plus this current one, I think more than half of the people I’ve met transferred with ADT in Gen Comm. They had average stats like around 3.0-3.2. And here’s something you guys might be interested in: A LOT A LOT A LOT of the said transfer students had transferred from LOCAL - SERVICE AREA community colleges.

To be honest - and I think it might alleviate some stress for y’all - I don’t think GPA is the prime dealbreaker. If anything, your completion of major prep courses, along with your grades in those prep courses (hopefully they are C’s or higher, as those are considered passing) is crucially important and what the board will keep their eyes on!

Also, be sure to call SDSU to verify they received your ADT when the time comes. Some people leave their fate in the hands of administration and choose to sit back and wait for results, but you really have to be on top of what the university needs from you and what they’ve received so far. No more spoon-feeding!!!

That literally just made my day. Thank you, thank you, thannnkkkk youuuuu. It definitely alleviated some stress. Feeling much more relaxed about this whole process. I will most definitely keep on top of my ADT e-verification. My school told me that they have been sent, but I will call SDSU to verify they received it. Thanks again, girl! @christinedoz

I Sent an email to sdsu to see if my AS-T was verify by my school and also sent my transcript since its the only proof I have of my degree. Hopefully they email me back soon to confirm everything. This process is very stressful, I feel all of you.

My required portion for housing just changed to blank as well. I’ve been still, checking my email every 5 mins lmao. I just want to hear back already! Good luck to everyone!

I have an AA not an ADT, I haven’t heard that we need to send SDSU any verification. Anyone hear differently about AA’s? Should I just be safe and send a verification?

Do you think it’s true that schools need to fill out certain quotas for types of students accepted?

@Joehochs‌ No, the only reason that they need to verify is because they are under ADT which is for transfer and is intended to aid people. That is why the ADT is looked at. An AA is not in anyway conected to a university. I hope I was clear

Hey @tiannacruz13‌! I’m right there with you! You’re actually the first Biology major I’ve seen on here so far. I’m also a Biology (zoology) major and am missing bio stats because it wasn’t available this semester. Super nervous because of that! Best of luck to you

@joehochs AA and AS degrees do not need to be verified. The only reason ADT (AA-T/AS-T) needs to be verified is because they are degrees that give students priority admission consideration and SDSU needs to make sure the student has one before they are admitted under false pretenses.

Hey guys I had a question regarding ADT, I’m still finishing it this semester and am wondering if we are supposed to send out an approval pending confirmation?

@raychill89 Okay so, I finally got the chance to talk to admissions at my community college and you were totally right, they automatically send verifications out!! The reason I was so confused was because A) I didn’t realize how they would know which schools to send them to (they send to all CSUs and UCs!) and B ) they never told me anything at all regarding verifications!
It makes no sense to me that they wouldn’t at least send out an email to all students telling them “hey, if you’re a transfer student we send out AA-T verifications” or something. But anyways, I digress. Thank you SO MUCH for all your help and explaining it to me!

PS. I can’t believe they say its going to be weeks!! I’m so sad. SDSU isn’t my first choice school so I feel particularly bad for you guys who plan on attending SDSU! So unfair to you guys.

@tessanicole‌ where is your first choice?

@futurepainca so far Cal Poly SLO is at the top of my list, which I’ve been accepted to! but I’m definitely not ruling out SDSU

You should talk to a counselor. However I believe that you do have to have some proof that you will be finishing up that degree. The deadline is on the 15 of this month so don’t let it pass.

So is it true that those with a ADT degree won’t find out til later March early April if they got in or not?
