@sdsu17 hi! I’m one of the two that are trying to major in the same field. I haven’t heard anything yet either, still pending…
@sdsu17 Nope I haven’t heard anything but doesn’t look like anyone has! Your stats are much better than mine. Good luck!
Yes Im just taking the two socio classes i need and thats it and you?
@carlaaay I’m just saying that pre-requisites at SDSU are more important than gpa. Someone mentioned earlier on this forum about the vet with the 4.0 gpa who did not get accepted. Go to this webpage: http://arweb.sdsu.edu/es/admissions/transfers/apply/majorprep.html
It is spelled out clearly. “Transfer applicants, with the exception of nursing transfers, must complete all major preparation courses listed in the SDSU General Catalog by the end of the spring term prior to fall admission.”
You can use assist.org or SDSU’s Transfer Admission Planner (TAP) to determine required pre-req courses.
Good morning everyone! Here are my stats
Major - Biology
Location - Palomar College (north san diego county)
GPA - 3.20 (missing O Chem)
Decision - Pending!
Woke up this morning and felt as though a decision was coming today! Here’s to hoping!
I keep telling myself that I need to stop obsessively checking this forum and my webportal to see if anyone or myself has received any news and that I will just wait because they probably won’t announce anything until the March 15th deadline. Then I’m like, “Who are you kidding?” and so here I am again. -_-
@ieatsushi Omg, lmao you just literally summarized my life right now in two sentences! =))
I just received the below email from my cc. This is why the ADT acceptances are being held up. There are probably others out there like me who don’t have ADT submitted yet. So I am not going to obsess and will wait patiently until April if necessary to receive my admission decision. I just filed my graduation application for June 2015 ADT today.
Dear Foothill College CSU-bound Transfer Student,
You are receiving this message because your CSU Application stated that you will earn a Associate Degree for Transfer (ADT) from Foothill College by the end of Spring quarter 2015. Special considerations are given to transfer students who earn an ADT; therefore, we must immediately verify to the CSU that you will satisfy these degree requirements by the of the spring quarter.
Our records show that you have not yet filed a petition to graduate with the Associate Degree for Transfer. This could seriously impact your priority consideration for CSU admission and limit other benefits such as the guarantee that you will be eligible to graduate within 60 units after transfer. By law, Foothill College must verify to the CSU you are on track to receive your degree. The deadline for us to verify your ADT to CSU is Monday, March 16th.
Just received the same email. Here’s one problem: I am not getting associate degree for transfer, it’s not offered for my major. But I have a feeling I marked it wrong in the form
Hey guys!
been stalking this thread for awhile now, checking to see if anyone has heard back with admission decisions! it’s March 9th and I’m getting and more anxious by the day hahah it’s driving me insane. SDSU is my first choice and would be a dream come true if I were to get accepted! anyways here are my stats!
Transfer from Santa Monica College
GPA: 3.43
Major: Communications with AA-T
Also Applied to UCSB (with tag), CSULB (accepted!), and CSUF.
Really crossing my fingers for SDSU!!
@davisgirl, that letter is telling you that your college hasn’t received your application for petition for graduation, I did mine in January. They won’t/can’t verify until you have filled that out and you’ve had a graduation evaluation. If you had filled that out after the deadline, that would have been bad news. I freaked out because I got the same letter in February and had to call the school because I turned in my application into the office instead of doing it online.
@irinairina if you go back into CSUmentor where you filed your initial application you can see if you marked it wrong. Do you have a copy of your supplemental printout too?
@ieatsushi Cant find my copy… Just called the school, they told me since the decision hasn’t been made yet, i need to email them asking to correct my application. Hopefully it will work and won’t affect the whole process
How many of you actually printed a copy of the supplemental? I saved it on my cp and now I can’t find it.
I thought i saved it too, but cant find it. Def didnt even think of printing it out
@irinairina You’ll know if you checked ADT from your initial application because the supplemental is based on information you entered in the initial application. Go into your CSUMentor; click the “Apply” tab; then the box for the 2015 Fall admission; once you click there you should see the initial CSU applications (under “Online applications already submitted”) that you filled out. Click on the box for SDSU and under “Major” if it says something like: Business Admin (General) (BS) (AS-T Degree Transfer) then that you tell you if you checked ADT.
I printed out a copy of mine. @815gab I printed it because if I get denied for apparent mistakes, I want to be able to pinpoint what mistakes/discrepancies they found so that I can try to appeal it.
@ieatsushi About the grad petitions for ADT verification, last October when I went to see my counselor, she advised me to do that so I just took care of it then before I filled out the initial application. The importance of seeing counselors regularly is paramount I have found. So many deadlines and tasks need to be completed that many students would never know about otherwise.
@raychill89 I see the counseling office several times every semester (at least, twice and mostly because I can never get a straight answer on anything), not once was I told about it. The reason that I did it was I saw a poster reminding students to file a petition for graduation. At the time I assumed it was to be done the semester one is graduating—come to find out, it’s RECOMMENDED to do it a year in advance!
That’s so crazy! I would be so mad if no one told me. I basically went into the counselor’s office last October with a list of questions about the transfer process and had my counselor map out all of the deadlines and tasks that needed to be completed. That is their job to help students with their educational plans and the transfer process. It’s very frustrating to hear about some not doing their jobs properly… I’m glad you were able to take care of everything in time! @ieatsushi
@raychill89 At least I have some first-hand experience to help out others or eventually my kids in the future on what to expect. When I graduated HS, waaaay back, and started at Miramar. I had NO IDEA what I was doing. Fast-forward to now, if I wasn’t proactive about going to see a counselor every semester who knows if I would have received the information I needed. I didn’t find out about receiving an AD-T until late last year or that without one, I’d have no shot at getting in because of my credits from the University of Phoenix disqualifies me from TAG.
