@raychill89 Thank you! Yeah, so I went to my school to go talk to the people in charge and they said since I already filled out my form for my AA-T they will send it to the schools I applied for. They told me they will “try” to send it out before the 15th. That’s El Camino College for you.
@Raychill89
Wait for the ADT e-verification what did you have to do? So just applying for your degree through your school is not enough? At my school, I asked the counselors in the transfer center about this but she said it happens automatically. But, you know how it is. Half the counselors at my school have no idea what they are talking about.
I’m super late to the party! Feel free to chance me if you wish.
Major - History
Location - In-state
GPA - 4.0
AA/AS-T? History AA-T
I am honestly super confused about the entire degree verification thing. I should probably figure it out soon because my CC is notoriously slow and unknowledgeable when it comes to transferring out.

ADT e-verifications are sent automatically (or should be from my understanding) upon students petitioning for graduation. When your petition is filed, your name is then put on a list that the community colleges automatically forward to the universities their students are attempting to transfer to. I’d still be calling and pestering your community colleges to make sure it’s done on time. I read that Grossmont College here in San Diego made a mistake and didn’t send them in last year and a whole bunch of people were denied admission because of it. I’d be SO mad if that happened to me! @raisedbywolves @tessanicole
If you go to Miramar college you should be fine. There was an email sent on the 30th of January stating that they would verify your degree by the 15th of March. I talked to the head of evaluations and they decided to send the verification in themselves rather than expect the students to do it. They must have realized how many people got screwed over by their process last year and changed things.
Hopefully the same goes for everyone else, but I agree with Raychill89 and would definitely call and spend however long on the phone than to file an appeal later.
I wonder how many people got denied from grossmont due to the adt verification issues.
@raychilll89 oh wow! sounds incredibly simple (in theory. seriously, my CC office is a disaster. pretty sure my petition is still pending :S)
one last question: how does your CC know which colleges your interested in transferring to? I know its probably different for everyone, but just worried a bit…I’ll have to make an appointment with my counselor soon.
thanks for the info!
@tessanicole So this was an email I received last month from evaluations in the San Diego Community College District. @impatient1 is this the email you were referring to?
"Dear Rachel,
Our records indicate that you have filed a Petition for Graduation for an Associate Degree for Transfer with an expected graduation date of Spring 2015. The California State University (CSU) System provides the Community Colleges with a list of students who have applied for Fall 2015 transfer utilizing an Associate Degree for Transfer (AA-T/AS-T or ADT). This list is used to “e-verify” students who are earning an ADT from the Community College.
You are receiving this email because your name is on the CSU ADT e-Verify transfer list and you have filed a Petition for Graduation for an ADT. Your ADT will be “e-verified” by the March 15th deadline. If you are currently enrolled, you must complete your classes with a passing grade.
Note that you must also submit a final transcript to the CSU once your degree has been posted (June 23rd for spring 2015).
If you have questions, please contact us at evaluators@sdccd.edu .
Congratulations,
The Evaluations Team"
I assume all CA community colleges will receive a list from the CSU system and have to verify that list by sending back the names of students who will in fact have their ADT.
Hey quick question to anyone on this thread: what does your admission status date say in the webportal? Mine still says October 8th, 2014. I read on last year’s transfer thread that the date changes when your application is opened or looked at. Wish we had all the answers LOL. I am starting to become extremely neurotic…I swear!
Yes it is. That is the same email I received.
I am starting to get the same way. My application date hasn’t changed at all. I’m hoping that it is like last year, where several people heard back on the 5th of March.
Does anyone know if regular admissions decisions are sent out before transfers? Or are they all about the same time? Getting so anxious here!!!
still no change on my webportal about the admissions…
BUT if you got a big envelope in the mail = admitted
small envelope = rejected.
haven’t gotten anything in the mail yet though. I guess we wait?
@SDSUhopefulx On their website it says March 2015 is the date both freshmen and transfers will receive a decision. Didn’t get any acceptance letters in the mail yet either. Hopefully we’ll get a response next week though.
Is Sdsu like the cal poly slo transfer system? Cal poly gives more advantage to people who have all the classes all done BEFORE applying in the fall 2014 rather than having any of them in progress or planned for fall 2014 and spring 2015, which is before we transfer in fall 2015. This mostly making it impossible for two year students like myself to get in there…
No acceptance or rejection by snail mail. Everything is done by email
Hi everyone, sorry this is a bit late. So surreal to finally be posting on a transfer thread Anywho, here are my stats:
Major - Sociology
Location - East Bay, Las Positas College
GPA - 3.4
AA/AS-T: Yes, AA-T by the end of Spring 2015
Major Reqs: Finish by end of Spring 2015
Applied: SDSU, Cal Poly, UCSD, UCSB, and UCSC
SDSU has been my dream school since elementary school (my sister is an alum) however, ironically enough, I changed my top to UCSD about a month ago because of their specialized sociology degree. So my order of preference is: UCSD, SDSU, UCSB, Cal Poly, UCSC. But who knows what will be if I get an acceptance letter from state ( I might just cry my eyes out and accept the admission right there and then haha). I’m super nervous and really trying hard not to get my hopes up.
Good Luck everyone, I wish all of you nothing but the very best!
PS: Anyone have an idea of what off campus housing is like? I want to bring my husky pup with me if it’s possible.
Major: Business (Accounting)
Location: Ventura County
GPA: 3.55
All pre-reqs will be completed by end of Spring 2015
No AS-T
I forgot to add a class that i am currently taking into the supplementary application, do you guys know if that would effect anything?
I completed the application once it opened mostly due to nervousness and a couple days before school started i decided on adding another class, the problem is i forgot to add it to my supplementary (because it was embedded in my mind that the application was done since i completed it so early). The class isn’t important transferring wise but on the supplementary i put that i was taking 7 units for this semester (which i was) but now it has changed to 12 units because of the extra class.
Do you guys know if this will effect my application?? if so is there a way to fix it??
Has anyone heard back from sdsu regarding transfer applications?
I don’t think any transfers have been accepted yet… maybe I’m wrong
Also, Does everyone’s student level say “undergraduate” ? Mine says that… but it should be a transfer and that is making me worry…
