2016 - 2017 USC Transfer

@Lechooch You have to send them by the deadline. They have to be “postmarked” by the deadline.

Can I have them sent in before my application is submitted or does it have to be after? @JC10202010

Thats I question I have too  . i called thé admissions office today about that but they’re closed due to today being a holiday.

@JC10202010 @Lechooch You can submit your transcripts before you submit your common app. The reason being-- you don’t use common app to upload/submit transcripts, instead, you use your current institution and secondary school’s platform to.

@IBProspect123 thankyou. Do we need to send it along with the barcode or ID thing some people have?

@thepinksun I told my admissions counselor about the change in one course and she said it was okay, so I did not need to send in another transcript. I’m not sure with two though. Contact your admissions counselor and ask.

@Lechooch Send them as soon as you can. I sent mine after submitting my app on Feb 1st (which is totally okay, but they recommend that you send it earlier than that).

@Yuanqii You’re a 4-year uni student currently, right? If you are coming from a different university, it’s up to the Transfer Credit dept to determine if it will transfer. I think your business calc course should be sufficient to transfer (I checked it with the articulation agreement with my CC to IR major and it says it’s equivalent to business calc at my CC); if anything, you can petition it. Your business courses can still give you elective credit (just like mine did when I was originally business as well). And it’s fine if there isn’t a course offered because USC will know that. Contact the dept at USC for your other questions.

Senior chemE at USC. Hope to work in the rocket industry. Ask me questions because I’m bored. I like specific questions like job employability, navigating the career fair, etc versus questions that are “I got XYZ grade or did ABC, what do you think will happen?”

I have less than 30 units, I understand I have to send in my high school transcripts, but can I manually mail it to them, if I have may high school transcripts from graduation, or is there any other certain requirement? Thank you

to any current USC students on this board, is it difficult to receive financial aid from the school?

Does USC need to see what spring classes I’m taking on my transcript? Or just the grades from fall?

@mnada99 I would say that USC does a very good job of being more than generous with their financial aid. I didn’t think to try and apply for any scholarships, but they awarded me enough aid that not only would my tuition be covered, I would have a little left over to buy things like books, etc (I wound up getting a few textbooks and a new computer). On the other hand, I think they do expect you to pay at least something (especially if you are going to live on campus). I wanted to live on campus, but since I received my decision so late and was a spring admit, I didn’t really get the housing I wanted and chose to commute by bus/Uber (which has been a little annoying so far) :stuck_out_tongue: Anyway, in my experience and from what I’ve read, your educational related costs should be just about covered - I don’t know what it takes for them to cover boarding costs though.

I am currently a freshman applying to the Business major and the international Relations Business major. I have all A’s for my fall semester but for the winter session I am probably going to get a C in college algebra and a B in anthropology. Do you think that USC will regect me after having accepted me when they see that I got those grades? Should I just apply as undecided or “open” and then transfer to those majors internally?

Does anyone know how long it takes after you submit your common app for you to access to the USC portal?

@mnada99 I didn’t receive as much as I expected to receive, but I do agree with zetta that they are generous. I received enough to be able to feel somewhat comfortable with attending so it’s all good. Just gotta hunt for scholarships.

@TheTank00 It took 2-3 days for me

When I send my transcripts, How will they identify my application with those transcripts? Do I have put some barcode or ID that was mentioned?

Thanks. Do they send an email with a temporary ID or something like that?

@TheTank00 They send an email with your USC ID # and they provide you with a link to sign up for your “YouSC” account. The rest of the email is a reminder of all the information that needs to be sent to them.

Thank you very much!

do you get a link to sign up for the usc account after you send your application?
