2016 - 2017 USC Transfer

.

Btw many students don’t even submit a recommendation letter

Yup, I didn’t submit a letter of recommendation either time I applied, so I can’t really say how important they actually are. I did ask professors for both cycles, but they oddly enough both forgot :stuck_out_tongue:

@KELLYYYY i’m apart of the TTP as well! i think a good amount of people are

is there enough dorm rooms for transfer students on campus?
where do usc students live when there is only limited number of dorm rooms?

as a part of the TTP, as long as we get above a 3.7 is it pretty much guaranteed that we’ll get in? @faroutgirl @mnada99

I am not sure if it’s guaranteed but I am thinking that having the TTP will help a lot. @KELLYYYY

@KELLYYYY @faroutgirl nothing is “guaranteed”, but if you are a part of the TTP and comply with what they tell you to do (GPA above 3.6 is what they told me), then they are confident they can help find you get in

Are you guys trying to transfer in as juniors or sophomores? @KELLYYYY @mnada99

@mnada99 @KELLYYYY @faroutgirl hey I’m part of the TTP too! I was suppose to apply as a biological science major and take a bio class with a lab my second semester. However, I was unable to because my school doesn’t allow students to take bio until completing a year and a half of chemistry. I decided to apply as undecided and put bio as my second choice. I’m currently a freshman and I have a 3.83 GPA. I have taken all the other classes they wanted me to take for both semesters…do you think I have a good chance of getting in?

How does USC weight students applying from other four year Universities? I’m applying from Boston University.

@transferboyz how many credits would you complete after this spring semester? can I ask your GPA? what is your first and second choice major at usc?

@faroutgirl I will be a sophomore!
@naols79 I don’t think missing out on that one bio class will make your chances go down. They look more at your specific GPA of the classes that transfer, but if you couldn’t take every class they suggested, they are pretty understanding since they know we have to abide by the rules of our current universities. They’s why they typically recommend that members of the TTP attend CC’s, so they have more freedom in taking classes.

I’m curious about that too because I am applying from the University of San Francisco @transferboyz
If I received a 4.0 my first semester and will have completed 32 units after my spring semester do you think I will be ok if I am transferring from a 4 year? My first choice major is political science. @victory1

Does everyone have all their documents marked as received on the USC application portal? I had my current university transcript mailed in January and it is still listed as “required documents.” I’m also applying as an incoming sophomore so I sent my SAT scores but they haven’t been marked as received yet either. Not sure if I should call or email to confirm they’ve received them?

@faroutgirl I’m transferring from the University of Arizona and i currently have a 4.0 and will have completed 32 units as well. They do look at the rigor of your curriculum when you apply but i would still try to keep that GPA as high as possible

@alexk97 My documents took a few weeks to be marked as received on the portal. But you might as well call the university just to make sure everything is still on track.

I just called admissions and they said it can take 2 weeks to process it once it is mailed cause I also sent mine in January and mine still says required on my you.usc. @alexk97
I am wondering if they will take into account that we go to 4 years instead of CC because of the rigor of academics or anything. @KELLYYYY

@KELLYYYY I’m applying from the University of Arizona as well as an incoming junior for next semester. Best of luck to you! Are you doing business admin?

Hi, I am a freshman, did I need to send my SAT/ACT scores. I will have completed 30 units by the end of the spring.
