Update: I was accepted on Friday! GPA weighted: 4.21 ACT: 33 OOS
A little over a week ago the admissions counselor emailed me telling me that my application was complete. However, it still says incomplete on the website. Should I email? Or is this normal?
@c0ll3g3s00n, If a counselor told you that your application is complete, that should be the case! It has come to our attention that the “incomplete” status never fully clears from some applicant’s profiles, even after we have everything we need. In order to ensure that your status is correct you can do the following:
-Check to see if anything is specifically listed as missing. If not, you should be fine.
-Make sure that we have all of the following (your app is complete if we have these items): completed online app, application fee, self reported academic record or official high school transcript, test scores.
Since a counselor already checked for you and said your app is complete, chances are that you are good to go. Hope this helps!

@hailtopitt1787, So are you saying it is possible to receive an email with a decision even though the application still says incomplete?
@c0ll3g3s00n, Yes. If there is a glitch in our system like I described, your application can be showing up to your view as “incomplete” even if it is complete on our end. Feel free to email oafa@pitt.edu if you would like us to double check your status.

My application was marked complete on September 17th. Is it concerning that I haven’t received a decision yet?
@iowajohn355, Nope! While our Admissions Committee works very hard to ensure an application gets an efficient and thorough review, it can sometimes take a little longer. You should hear soon. I know it’s stressful to wait, so thank you for your patience!

Hi, I applied to Pitt main campus about 6 weeks ago. It seems like it is taking longer for me to hear back than everyone else I know who applied. Does that mean I’m borderline of getting in? I took lots of AP classes and honors / CHS with a 3.9 GPA but a low sat score of 1620. I applied to the Arts and Science school. @hailtopitt1787
@lacrosse1998, The length of time it takes for you to hear back does not necessarily mean anything about what admissions decision you will receive. I know waiting can be stressful, but our Admissions Committee does their best to give everyone an efficient and thorough review. If you would like to check the status of your application, you are welcome to contact our office: 412-624-7488 or oafa@pitt.edu. Thank you for your patience!

thank you! how long do you think it should take to hear back? @hailtopitt1787
are there really specific times that people hear back? or can it be any time (day/night, weekday/weekend)?
@c0ll3g3s00n I heard back at like 3/3:30pm, if that helps at all.
@c0ll3g3s00n i also got an email around 3, at exactly 3:31!
I emailed a counselor and confirmed that my App was complete on September 29.
I received my acceptance E-mail on October 16, at 3:31 pm (That appears to be when all acceptance e-mail’s are sent).
I applied to the Dietrich School of Arts and Sciences for a BS in Computer Science.
