Hi! I’m actually going to try to transfer next year, but does anyone know if I’m in the first year’s honors program (and Dean’s honor’s) at my current UC, should I put it on my application and if so, where should I put it? Do the other UC even care about that?
@ApricotWolf Yes, of course you should. You can put it in the Awards section of the application. That looke very good, considering you’re coming from a UC.
@anonmus I won’t be completing my GEs by the end of the year. There’s too many classes for my major i need to take to keep from falling behind. I know completing my GEs will give me a much better chance, but I want to be in a comfortable position in the case that I stay in UCR.
I’d love to post my stats and get chanced, but I worry it might hurt my admission chances to do so. I’m pretty sure an admission officer could deduce which application is mine easily if they saw my post here, because I’m in a slightly unique situation.
Are my fears justified? Do college admissions officers ever happen upon these College Confidential threads?
@sosoill Even if an admissions officer who had your application saw you post on college confidential, why would they care? By posting you stats, all you are telling others is your academic history. There’s nothing wrong or illegal about that. There’s really no possibility of it hurting your chances at all - not to mention that admissions officers are busy as is, and wouldn’t go out of their respective ways to look for applicants on college confidential.
If I submit a job application, there’s nothing preventing me from talking about the contents of my resume with others (i.e. my education, work history, etc.) - why is this any different?
Thanks @goldencub ! I guess you’re right.

My situation is a little odd as I’m a true freshman. Because of AP credits, I’ll be an academic junior with 91 quarter units by year’s end. I’m worried that being on the lower end of the academic unit count, and the fact that I’ve only finished one quarter of college, might hurt me.
Also, I did fairly well on standardized tests in high school (35 on ACT composite), which I mentioned in the additional comments section of my application. Should I also officially send my scores through ACT inc. to Berkeley?
because of the large amount of applicants this year, what do yal think this means for intercampus transfers?
i’m sure that things may not change much or at all in terms of selectiviy and admissoin… but i’m scared lol
@UCMtoUCSBHopeful Idk I mean I am kinda pissed they extended the deadline to Jan 4 AFTER Nov 30 but if anything I feel like most community college transfers are on track to apply on time anyways so the extension may have only encouraged more students from other 4 years. Irvine did offer a spring transfer this year and maybe Davis did too so that affects the pool and numbers too. Also TAG has to be factored in for the UCs which accept it. Basically even if we are lower priority we need to be as competitive if not more than the non-TAG applicants. I know that UCLA gives equal priority. I think what they look for in a four year transfer is do they have a good reason to transfer and are they a good fit. Because if you struggle and don’t stand out at a lower ranked UC, you won’t do as well at a higher ranked one.
@UCMtoUCSBHopeful I’ve read the UCs have more admission spots this year than they did last year. Stay positive!
being inter-campus applicants, do yal think we should expect to hear back at a later time than CC applicants?
@UCMtoUCSBHopeful I highly doubt it.
Wait are our winter quarter grades factored into the admission decision? I’m not failing or anything but just wondering cause unlike students on the semester system we have an extra set of grades before decisions come out and I have never seen a clear answer.
@chs2014 Your winter grades haven’t come out yet, right? Since the TAU deadline was set at 1/31, I don’t think they will require winter grades from you. You can still add them to your TAU, but there’s no guarantee that they will be seen or factored into your admission decision. Of course, that doesn’t mean that your winter/spring grades won’t count, but they won’t necessarily count toward your admission decision.

@sosoill Did you get your results back? I’m also a UC Davis freshman but I plan on doing transfer applications this quarter.
So if they release decisions in batches, are intercampus transfers last because we are lower priority? UCSD started coming out yesterday but no decision as of yet.
anybody from UCSB?
