Accepted to UCLA stats posted in earlier posts

@Cecethemamacita there have been people who have successfully done it! Browse the UC transfers threads

Current school: UCSB
Applied: UCB, UCD, UCI, UCLA, UCSC, UCSD
Accepted: UCB, UCD, UCI, UCSC, UCSD
Rejected: UCLA (applied to an impacted major)

Major: Different majors for each school; all of which are related to neuroscience and biology
GPA: 3.5-3.6
Major GPA: Around 3.3-3.4
Major Prereqs: Missing ochem and physics
UC Reciprocity: Done after spring quarter

Admitted as of 4/22 and heard back from Berkeley just yesterday!!! Extremely shocked about Berkeley; they really do look at applications holistically. I was set on transferring to UCSD but I am now deciding between Cal and UCSD!

So many people (and academic advisors as well) have told me that the possibility of transferring to another UC was incredibly slim and nearly impossible. To future intercampus transfers: people will be discouraging, but push through and don’t give up because it’s definitely possible!

@2succulents : Congratulations!! I have some questions for you, so I’ll be privately messaging you.

@g_green : Just wanted to say congrats! I know UCLA was your goal and I read that you got in so yayayayay!

If you apply and you dont get accepted will you remain in your UC school ?

@am1219 yes

@UCMtoUCSBHopeful Hey I’m currently about to be a freshman at UCM and I wanted advice on your transfer process. Because I’m very determined into transferring to either UCSB, UCD, UCI, UCSD, UCSC, UCB and/or UCLA. Can you hopefully message me one on one because I’d really like some guidance.

@2succulents were you determined from the start to transfer out of UCSB or what made you make the decision to transfer?

@Pieforlife102 Hi, I was initially like you as well. Before even going to college, I had talked myself into working hard and then transferring the minute I got the chance. Unfortunately, I ended up loving my school and the people in it. I can’t speak for the people that have actually transferred but what I would say is, don’t go into college with the mindset of leaving in 2 years. Instead, go in wanting to soak in knowledge and wanting to gather experiences from what are supposed to be the best years of your life. If at the end of freshmen year, you find yourself unhappy at UCM, then I would say work towards transferring. But don’t go in with a closed mindset!

@Pierforlife102 hey! I’ll be sure to msg you, but as @anonmus said, I agree. You don’t want to go into school that mentality.
Now that I’m at UCSB, I cannot help but [[[MISS]]] UC Merced so much.
But yes, let’s talk UC transferring :)!

@Pieforlife102 UCSB was actually one of my top choices when I entered as a freshman and I was planning to spend my entire undergrad there. But at the end of freshman year, I thought about transferring for a lot of reasons-- both personal and academic reasons. Although I transferred out of UCSB, I loved my time there and I made the most of my 2 years!

I completely agree with @anonmus too; enjoy your time at UCM but if you end up not liking after a year, look into transferring!

@2succulents Just wondering, what do you not like about UCSB?

Can I inter campus transfer in one year? I have enough AP credits to put me at Junior standing by June of next year.

@anonmus Thank you so much, that helped open my eyes. Its just because I worked so hard throughout high school and I really thought I’d get into a good UC but I applied for really competitive majors. But I will take your advice and do so on my journey throughout Merced. Do you mind me asking which college you are currently at? And so did you decide not to transfer?

@Pieforlife102 for privacy reasons, I won’t reveal where I attend now, but yes, I did decide not to transfer! Feel free to pm me if you want more info or insight! Good luck!

i am a current UCRiverside ongoing sophmore hoping to transfer into UCIrvine or UC San Diego in the next couple of months. Basically i have nothing but my GPA, which is 3.7 . Can anybody tell me my chances of getting in and any hints or tips of those who transfered before . Thanks i’m really lost
Current school: UCR
Applying to: UCI UCSD UCLA UCB
Major:business
GPA:3.73

what are my chances?

what if my units is over 90 units? can i still transfer?

@ergergeigrg I also majored Business at UCR and I’m transferring to UCSD this fall.
As of my final spring quarter GPA, mine is 3.5 but I heard that your freshman fall quarter is more important.
My freshman fall quarter GPA was 3.8

I joined a honors society club but didn’t get involved much, so I think extracurricular activities are not super important.

My friend who had somewhat around 3.7 ~ 3.8 GPA got into UCSB and UCSD, but he didn’t get into UCI.
I heard that a lot of people didn’t get into UCI, so maybe they are becoming more selective.

Unlike my friend, I was wait-listed in the beginning. Considering how you have higher GPA than me and
if you are in variety of clubs and activities, I think you should have a strong chance of getting into UCSD.

For the unit issue, I’m not really sure…

Hi! Can someone confirm that the unit cap is 130? And what’s the UC’s policy on upper division classes taken at the UC you are transferring out of?
