I posted something similar to this in the transfer thread so this is probably redundant…I was accepted to unc with NO clubs, volunteer experience, etc…I am not saying they don’t care for that type of stuff in transfer students but clearly it is not as important as it is in first year students…I would say that if anyone is trying for unc next year, my advice would be to focus mainly on academics…I think ECs are nice but I’ve never heard of any school choosing someone who is in every club over someone who is academically competitive. This is only my two cents tho. Take care everyone and hope to see you at unc one day.
@Gowolfpacks18 gotta agree w. you 100%. at the end of the day, universities want to make sure you are up to par with their rigorous coursework and are becoming less interested in how many clubs a student can join in a year. best of luck at unc.
2014 thread " OFFICIAL Fall 2014 UNC Transfer Wait-list thread!" Final decision came out june 2 supposedly.
So i would aspect an answer next couples weeks.
I got accepted to NYU. My dream school has always been unc, cuz I had high school in South Carolina, totally liked the vibe there. But I can only wait until June.1st. As a international student, I have so many things that need to taken care of. Well, I guess unc is only a dream
I would love to go to NYU it is a great School and could possibly open up more doors to bigger jobs
I just sent UNC my letter of continued interest and updated resume, really super stressed that if they let me in I would go. I was waitlisted at UNC and at Vanderbilt which sucks. Rising sophomore at Purdue with a 3.82. At the moment, I’m headed to Tulane from Purdue, so I can’t complain! Wishing everyone the absolute best and Go Heels!
Ehhh you sent a letter?? Idk about that but do what you gotta do.
I don’t know, I know someone in the admissions office so I just emailed him. Forums online say it’s best to do that, especially once time has passed. It wasn’t like a plea for admission but just a restatement for my interest in UNC.
I talked to an admissions counselor (in-person) last week and he said he isn’t even sure if they will be looking at the waitlist this year–they haven’t decided yet. So, I don’t think when people decline, it correlates to an open spot being opened on the waitlist. I was really disappointed to hear that and now I really don’t have my hopes up.
Oh, and the only thing you can do to help yourself is to report your most current grades–I was told that is the only thing they consider.
They can’t tell you anything thats how it is. It would give you leg up, or some type of advantage of knowing. They say the 30th when year’s past have came out end of may and first week june. Its to keep you from harassing the admissions department.

2013-50+
2014-10 or so
2015- <5
So who knows this year. Transfers are due for a spike this yea lol.
if they only admit fewer than 5 this year, the odds being out of the waitlist = the odds I become a football player.
I think the first wave decisions will come out this week.
keep your expectation low… I highly doubt the number will increase.
