2016 Weekend on the Square

Is Weekend on the Square worth attending if you already know you will be attending NYU in the fall?
My kid was admitted in ED1, so we already know he’ll be attending. He also spent a pre-college session there. Is the Weekend on the Square more of a recruiting tool, or will there be something he will benefit from?

We’re trying to decide if we should go ahead and reserve the flight and hotel. Also, is there any idea of what the schedule will be? I’ve seen that different schools present on different days. I want to make sure we plan to be there on the appropriate day, and I would rather make the bookings now to save a little money, rather than waiting until the beginning of April, when they release the schedule, and be forced to pay higher airfare because it’s only a coupe of weeks before the event.

I’d imagine it’s just a recruiting tool, but that does not mean it will not be a memorable first experience at NYU. If your child is really excited about it, and you can afford it, it may be a good investment and give your child the final burst of determination to get through the last quarter of high school and get some good AP scores to opt out of some preliminary courses. I for one will be attending because I am only 90 minutes away by car and am very excited to be attending the school in the fall.

I thought its for admitted students only? Which would make it being a recruiting tool a little … nonsensical.

@dehca2016 I think what he mean by recruiting is for those RD students who has not yet made their decision of where to go… So they are recruiting them to actually come to NYU

I forgot that everyone isn’t as enthusiastic about NYU as me.
