2017 - 2018 USC Transfer

Okay so this is a super weird thought…so I’m not sure how many of you are familiar with California’s geology, specifically their earthquakes, but they are predicted to have a “mega earthquake” within the next few years. Lol I think I’m being paranoid, but it kind of freaks me out. Is anyone else slightly worried about this?

@arteest1 yeah I’ve heard about it but I believe it’s like 150 years overdue so what’s the say it won’t go another 50-100 years, and also scientists have said that the San Andreas Fault isn’t capable of producing an earthquake exceeding a magnitude of 8.0, which is horrible but nothing off the charts crazy

@arteest1 nothing is stopping me from going to USC if I’m accepted, the state of California is going to have to fall off the damn grid in order for me to change my mind lol

@penntousc hahahahahah :)) if Usc goes down I’m going down with it.

@Pantafootball damn right lol there’s no way I’m putting this effort in and calling it quits just because the ground’s got some cracks in it

Cal-exit is actually a thing, so if an earthquake separates California it’s all good!

Viterbi CS applicant!

Hiii! Marshall applicant here. :)>- Good luck to everyone!

I’m more worried about the campus somehow running out of water :stuck_out_tongue: I notice that USC randomly turns off certain fountains for the day and I can’t tell if that’s for conservation purposes lol. My Spanish professor even discussed such a thing happening.

Anyone else have financial aid information that they turned in still listed under required? I get that they could be back up but I turned a noncustodial waiver in on February 26th and still nothing, didn’t think it’d take that long to process…

@Pantafootball i’ve been waiting for about 3 weeks now, I called the admissions office today because the system was showing that they haven’t received my high school transcript yet, but also showing that they did under the “received documents” section. They cleared everything up, but first the guy thought I was calling in for the irs form and he said a lot of people are waiting for that as well and there really isn’t an official due date on it yet. He also sounded kinda annoyed by it and said that its really the “feds” asking for it lol but he said next year they’re going to try and do something different about that form cause its bringing a lot of complications.

@dreamla yeah it’s annoying im still waiting I thought I messed up on where to send it but since you’re waiting too then it’s just a slow *** process

Yeah I actually messed up quite a few times and just to process my fafsa out of worry I sent the form to USC so it gets processed in time and they emailed back with corrections and I had to fax it again so hopefully it went through. Honestly I wish their fafsa was as easy as the uc’s @Pantafootball

@dreamla hey! I’m in the same boat. USC portal says they have received my transcripts on the received tab but on the still needed tab (or whatever it is titled) it says that they still need my transcripts.

Did they say it was a bug or should I call in as well?

Thanks.

Hey guys, does anyone know where we should have a professor send their letter of recommendation? I know it’s optional, but I got a professor to write me one, but it’s past the deadline, so I can’t submit it through the Common App. Where am I supposed to have it sent to?

@bettycrocker03 . You -can- actually submit it now through CommonApp. I just did, because you reminded me, thank you :))

Our applications won’t be reviewed until later on this month(or beginning of next month). I applied to Colorado College, which requires two recommendation letters but at the time when I submitted my app I only had one rec letter available. I submitted the other one a week afterwards and its status changed to “downloaded” a day or two afterwards. It should be fine

@bettycrocker03 I believe you can either upload it on your portal or have it mailed directly to USC. On the portal, go to “submit application documents” -> “document library” -> “letters of recommendation”

@arteest1 omg I thought the same thing!! But an earthquake isn’t going to stop me from attending my dream school haha!

@AGoodFloridian I can still invite the recommender through the Common App even though it’s way past the deadline? Is USC still going to receive it?

@umaasa Do you know what address it can be mailed to?

@bettycrocker03 , if you have the actual letter as a pdf or word document then definitely upload it through your youUSC portal. If your professor submitted it through CommonApp and you don’t have a copy, then just assign them as you normally would. Colorado College was fine with it; you could always call them on Monday to make sure if anything.
