@arteest1 it should be fine. You can email them if you want, but I bet they will know that the classes you have reported on the common app are subject to change. The real problem is if they ask for SGR and you drop a class they want to see completed.
seems weird, looking back at previous accep threads, some people got accepted mid may even though they were having calc or an engl class pre-req in progress.
@usc4ever they had to have been juniors with lots of GEs or other requirements completed as well
So how’s everyone on the first day of the long wait?
@holic222 I’m sure you’re fine. Thousands of people apply, there is a chance others have done it as well. Anyways, good luck to you and everyone on this thread. I hope we all get in!!
Are we supposed to wait for a portal link email from USC or can we set it up now on you.usc.edu? Because it does say just to use the email address you applied with…
@phoenix23 you should wait for the email. You don’t want any conflicts to arise
@stahboy I already created an account before I even submitted.
When should i expect the email?
I submitted mine on Monday and got the email on Wednesday. But I did apply before in 2015 so they kept my id.
@lilego69 I applied to UCLA, Stanford and University of Michigan (Ann Arbor) as my other schools. None of those are safety schools, so I was definitely nervous that it could have been a real possibility that I wouldn’t be able to transfer because I could’ve been rejected to every school on the list. Thank God I received my acceptance from Michigan yesterday, so I atleast know that I’m guaranteed a spot there if I get rejected everywhere else including USC
Currently taking my Winter Classes , would I send in my transcript again after I complete these courses and will they look at it in regards to my total GPA?
@penntousc hmmm that seems weird doesn’t it ? Could have sworn every admissions councilor stresses that if English course is it completed then you’ll get sgr for sure
@usc4ever can you send me a link of where you saw this ?
@Pantafootball yeah idk that doesn’t sound right
Just curious to hear from other applicants, how are all of you going to pay for the $70k tuiton if accepted? Loans, full cash?
@silvermansachs USC will meet 100% need so mostly from financial aid. Still a lot of money though
@silvermansachs I’d likely get almost fully covered by financial aid and just take loans out for the rest
@silvermansachs . As the others said, grants(and in the same line: work-study, scholarships) will cover the majority. The rest will be covered by a combination of loans and money that I kept in my savings for educational expenses.
It’s very likely that you’ll leave college with an amount of debt, but if you did well and worked hard (as I know most people here will do), you’ll have a great career that can wipe that debt fairly quickly.
@Pantafootball @penntousc http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/transfer-students/1645573-usc-transfer-decisions-2014.html on 3rd page the 1st person got outright accepted even with pre-req in progress which i assume are either english or calc
@usc4ever @Pantafootball if you’re referring to the person that said they had micro Econ in progress, that is not a necessary requirement. USC actually requires Econ to be taken there, and so the person who was taking micro Econ likely received no more than elective credit for that course.
