2017 - 2018 USC Transfer

@alienman1234 yeah here! What’s your focus in CS? I’m still figuring out what area I want to go in

@stahboy honestly i have no idea. maybe ai or data science or maybe web dev (front end/back end)

Any Human Bio majors?

What happens to all the documents (transcripts, etc) you send in if you are rejected? Do schools shred them or keep them for future reference?

@alienman1234 I am thinking of going into graphics, but at USC go into game development

Viterbi CS applicant here! What CSE/Math classes are you guys taking?

Anybody applying to the School of Cinematic Arts?

@InfiniteHH98 I am taking intro to graphics, AI, and systems programming

@InfiniteHH98 currently taking discrete mathematics, differential equations and computer science 2 (deals with recursions and algorithms in C++)

what math class are you guys taking rn?

@alienman1234 I am not taking any math lol, but graphics is basically lin alg. I took lin alg and discrete structures (math) last semester

Me too! Just curious… the GPA requirement is still in place right? Like besides submitting our documents we just have to maintain the GPA and then we’re in? @DirtyDonut

Y’all June 1st is so far away, I’m dying to know already

So… my portal still says they haven’t received my commonapp and its giving me palpitations. UPDATE! (please)

@mellyjune did you use the same email as when you applied to USC before, could that be the reason why?

@IwcWombat yea I used the same one but it says they received my USC supplement. I think they’re just backlogged because I got confirmations from commonapp but it’s just frustrating to see the same message for almost two weeks now. Also checking the portal is the only thing that I can do until decisions come out…

@USCfan1 as long as we maintain the GPA requirement, we have a high chance of being accepted. Nothing is guaranteed but I’m pretty sure it’s a predictable future . Fingers crossed

Hi everyone! I’m from Europe studying Finance and I am planning an exchange semester in either USC Marshall or UT Austin McCombs. Do you have any suggestions which one to choose? How is college life in either of them? Can anyone compare it with the lifestyle in European unis? I’ve never been in the US and I wonder which uni/town would be a better choice for me as international exchange student. Thanks!

@mellyjune if you are really worried about it, you can call them but hopefully they aren’t too busy right now with sorting and etc. Did you submit late?

@ndnmrt well on this thread you’re going to receive biased answers, since it’s a USC thread. Despite my bias, I think you’d be exposed to so much more if you go to USC since LA is so diverse and is loaded with opportunities. UT is a great school, but you won’t get the same experiences/as many experiences.

@penntousc Thanks! Yeah I figured the answers would be biased here, but I posted my question as a new thread in College Life and in a few threads where they compare the two unis, but since they are older no one replied yet. Figured here I will get some input, be it biased, since the thread is very active.
I am more inclined towards USC though it will be kinda more costly. Maybe it’s worth the contacts I can make? Does the Trojans network really work? UT ranks better for finance though. Would love to hear more opinions from you guys!
