2017 Admitted Applicants: Where will you/your child attend school in 2017-2018? Announce here!

@Nico.campbell yippee!!! Glad for you! You are like my DS…he knows SMS is the best spot for him, but he’s stuck on “what if” he had done something different with Groton…he’ll analyze it to death, I’m sure. But all in all, very happy where he’s going…so try to put it aside and know that maybe you didn’t apply to Andover because had you gotten into PA, maybe you wouldn’t have ended up at Choate like you were supposed to! Everything happens for a reason!!! Can’t wait to hear of your Choatie-tales this fall!

DD will be attending St. Timothy’s School. We signed last night after she got back from revisit day. She totally feel in love with the school. I’m not really sure if I’ll stay active on the forum here though, no one really talks about this school so I feel kind of off on my own.

@makp715 I think that’s a bigger reason to stay on the forum! It looks like DS will be attending St Mark’s School. I never hear anyone mention it…for those upcoming applicants, I think it’s even more important to bring our schools to the table…you have no idea who may be feeling left out because the schools they may be interested in are not mentioned…we will be the URSs!

^and with myself, we will be All Saints.

@buuzn03 and @makp715 I’m looking forward to both of you staying active and sharing your stories and perspectives. Bottom line we are parents taking the leap of faith of sending our kids to these schools and we have lots in common here regardless of where our kids attend. Congrats to both your families!!

@AppleNotFar my only regret with CC is that I didn’t find it much sooner in the process! You and the other guru parents (those who shall not be named…lol) have taught me so much! Coming from an area where absolutely no one has BS experience, it has helped more than anyone can know to have this forum to turn to. And I’m still learning every day…hopefully buuznkid2 will suffer much fewer mistakes in the process! Hopefully, others can learn from my experiences, too! What a ride!

@AppleNotFar I second your sentiment. I love hearing about schools we didn’t look at. Often I find myself googling them because they sound so amazing! There’s a kid for every pot and @makp715 & @buuzn03 you may help someone find their fit in the years to come. I’m sure there are more commonalities than differences in the whole BS experience.

At the very least we can all cry together when our babies leave!!

@makp715 and @buuzn03 , you have to stick atound. For all the Saints! There are so many great BS out there, and this corner of CC is better when all of them are represented. Your work is cut out for you!

@makp715 I grew up literally 5 minutes from St Tim’s. It’s a wonderful school. Congrats to your daughter and I hope she has a wonderful experience!

If you chose Choate, you chose the #1 school.

Oh! I guess I never made it official. Buuznkid will be attending St Marks School in Southborough!

@Nico.campbell – Congratulations, and welcome to Connecticut! I think you said you enjoyed the rain…it has stopped briefly but there’s more coming tomorrow and most of next week.

@buuzn03 - Congratulations to your son as well! I’m sure you know all you need to know about SMS hockey, but last week I happened to see a really nice feature on the SMS hockey program on NESN (Boston Sportsnet). It emphasized the character of the players and made it sound like a really wonderful program, which I’m sure contributes to its success. Perhaps Buuznkid will become a Bruins fan.

@CTMom21 buuznkid (as is the rest of the fam) is the HUGEST of Bruins fans…has been since before he put on skates! He loves (d) Looch, thinks they destroyed team mojo by trading Thornton & now has a Pasta jersey. He’s been to a few Bruins camps, also! He’ll be in his element!

Well how poetic for you guys to be in Boston yesterday, @buuzn03! You definitely brought some good Bruins energy with you. (And my younger DS has finally gotten over the Lucic trade, but it was ugly there for a while.)

Congratulations @Nico.campbell! It has been a lot of fun (and helpful) to read about your experiences, especially because DD got into a lot of the same schools. We are off to Choate tomorrow. Likely between Choate, Exeter and Milton for us.

It’s done… Phew! MX Class of 2020 <:-P …

AtriaDad had enough and we sat down yesterday to finalize our decision. And then to prevent AtriaMum/me from rethinking our choice (once more) he sent in the forms and the deposit

After the initial M10 adrenaline high, I really started doubting whether I wanted to go to BS. It didn’t seem so real during the M10 wait! I have a 4 year old sister and that would mean I would be missing out on watching her grow up. And it was sort of startling to realize that, no, this isn’t just a two week trip and I can’t just call quits and come back home. This is a 3 year commitment. It would mean that AtriaMum isn’t going to be an hour late picking me up from school, it would mean that she wouldn’t be there to frown disapprovingly whenever I think of doing something stupid, it would mean missing out on dinner-table debates with AtriaDad, it would mean leaving behind the tutu and crown dress up tea parties with baby sis…

I don’t think I ever made such a difficult choice, but in the end I said no the fabulous day school I was accepted at and steeled myself for the 20 hours flights in my near future

@Atria Congratulations on your decision. I’m a Middlesex grad and greatly value the four years I spent there eons ago. I agree with you that it’s going to be hard to give up the routine of your home life for sure (especially when you sound like you live faaar faaaar away) but hopefully you will find MX worth the gamble. From the academic opportunities to the arts to the sports to the location to the faculty and especially the students- it’s a truly wonderful school. Best of luck to you!

@ChoatieMom I really am in love with the school  . I can barely shut up about how excited I am :))

@buuzn03 I am very excited to share some Choate-tales in the future! I’m planning on staying active, so hopefully I can give some insight to applicants and prospective Choaties :ar! I feel like that pirate emoji is the hidden gem of the CC emojis :ar!

@Nico.campbell Gotta love that pirate emoji! @CTMom21 I had a hard time losing Looch, too. My son said it would be par for the course for the Bruins to not protect Pasta, Tuukka (which is the name of the Frenchie you see as my
<=== avatar/profile pic), and Marchand so that the Golden Knights could have them… :)) DS and I watched the game on NESN after we got back from Revisit!
@Atria – don’t worry about the moments of panic…your parents are getting them, too. I had one in the middle of Revisit when the Dean of Student Affairs talked about faculty being surrogate parents for four years…I think only DS saw the tears welling and the shallow breathing. I recovered quickly, but it still gives me chest pain when I realize the reality of that statement. This experience will probably make you a better big sis to Atriagirl! And I can’t think of a better role model for her!

Anyone else out there waiting on pins and needles for @lusitari to announce her choice? :-SS No pressure, @lusitari!
I just can’t wait to hear where you decide is best for you!!! (Play song, Anticipation)
