2017 Admitted Applicants: Where will you/your child attend school in 2017-2018? Announce here!

@buuzn03 Trust me, I feel the same. I’ve been discussing it a lot with her, and I think I have an idea of where she will go…

How many dogs do you have @Nico.campbell ???

@buuzn03 I’m just as anxious as you to decide so the burden of choice will go away. :)) I think the deciding factor is: FOOD?!

Girl after my own heart! Go for the desserts!!! =)) That way when you stresss eat, you won’t be disappointed! @lusitari, you will be successful no matter where you go…we just want you to be insanely happy!

Based on our chats I have an inkling to which school @lusitari leaning towards

@lusitari DORMS should be the deciding factor…
Stress eating is mainly packaged foods anyways

@buuzn03
I do believe he has 2 (or do I remember that wrong @“nico.campbell” )… But the ones featured on his profile aren’t his

I find that to be false advertising @Nico.campbell [-(

@lusitari Don’t get me wrong. I think there’s no wrong choice for you between Exeter and Middlesex. But let me ask you this - TO YOu, what’s wrong with Exeter?

i’m kind of new on this site, but i’m Choate Rosemary Hall, class of 2021! see you there!! can’t wait! @Nico.campbell :bz

Congrats, @graceeeeeee!!!

I guess what’s wrong with Exeter is the INTENSE workload…and the adjustment to harkness. :-/ @panpacific

Congrats! @graceeeeeee

Congrats all. They are all wonderful schools and opportunities. Remember please, the school doesn’t make you, you make the school. Love the school that loves you and take advantage of the opportunity before you to the fullest–and success will follow. Good Luck all students and parents and enjoy this wonderful time.
Forever true to gold and blue!

@lusitari I see. In that case, I wouldn’t bet on Exeter to be less intense than you expect. If it’s something you are very concerned about, it’s a good reason not to select Exeter. IMHO.

That is very true. Thank you  @panpacific

You’re going to work hard no doubt, and you’ll test your mettle, but my best advice having 2 students now in college, is to take time to smell the roses. Go to Lessons and Carols (one of the great BS traditions) even though you have a final the next day.

During Convocation, sign the honor code with sincerity, and make a lifelong commitment to honesty. Be thankful during that time that you have parents and a community supporting you and helping you to be your own best.

My DD told me during her very first English Test as a third former at Choate, during the middle of the test, she picked her head up and looked around the room, and smiled saying to herself “I’m so happy and fortunate to be here.”

Take time to enjoy downtime with friends and celebrate just being in sports. My oldest said at the end of Choate football games, her favorite time was not celebrating a win, but when all the Choaties run onto the field win or lose and the seniors hoist the freshman on their shoulders and they all celebrate just being all together as Choaties.

Enjoy dressing to the nines and celebrating Winter Ball. Have fun and remember, to whom much has been given, much will be expected (St. Luke’s Admonition), but above all, don’t let your time go by without stopping to smell the roses!

There are kids who are excited about and looking forward to the challenges, the rigor and the intensity of Exeter - I’m not kidding. It doesn’t stop some of them from crash and burn sometimes. That’s why I say if you are already worried about the intensity now, it might not be the right fit for you. @lusitari

@lusitari i can speak to exeter’s intense workload. my friend is currently there, and we face time nearly every night. she procrastinates like crazy, so if she’s struggling, it’s always her own fault, but she can catch up quickly. i do know however that she has lots of friends who are good at managing time, and get all of their work done with some time to spare. i’m not actually there, but this is what i’ve been able to gather!

Thank you for the insight! @panpacific @graceeeeeee

Is Middlesex really that much less intense? Why? Is the workload less or the pressure or??

That’s what I’ve heard and picked up on. @HMom16
