@k_03 @nisydpo123 @CyanideCN @vakilmohit May be I will take the ACT test in october. How do you guys get these scores? these scores might not seem good to you guys,they are not bad either. I would be in seventh heaven if i got those scores. Guys plzzz! I want suggestions. I know i have got plenty of time, but how to do it??? Do u guys read loads of novels , story books or may be magazines. How did you guys score 30+ in English ??? I want to know plzzzzz… ^:)^
@unifeva I don’t know about other people in this thread, but I am very satisfied with my score! I want to give you my advice, but I don’t know what your starting point is…so my suggestions may not necessarily pertain to your particular situation…but I’ll do my best.
I wasn’t so terrible with Math so I honestly didn’t do any prep at all since the beginning. But I was always terrible at english, reading, and science so I had to do accessory work on those areas. For english, I would say first check out this prep-scho1ar website (http://blog.prepscholar.com/the-ultimate-study-guide-for-act-english-tips-strategies-and-practice) and master all the rules here before actually doing any real act problems. Once you understand all the rules here, it really comes down to you not making any silly mistakes. For reading, well… I can’t really give you any advice on this since I am still terrible at it…I guess people who read a lot of books tend to do well on the test (looking at my friends), but I can’t guarantee that. Actually, I once got a 30 on the reading and it really came down to perfect self-timing. For example, you have to fully comprehend each passage within 3 minutes and answer the questions in 5 minutes. For me, this perfect self-timing skill fluctuates quite a bit so maybe that’s why I am so bad at reading. Also, you could also improve your vocabulary through books like wordsmart (it may help your reading comprehension!). For science, I know everyone says this, but you just cannot read the passage first before answering the questions (except for conflicting viewpoint). Go STRAIGHT to the questions, then figure out where the questions are trying to lead you to the passage. I’m pretty sure that you know what key words to focus on: things like “figure 1, table 1, according to graph 1 and table 2, based on the information provided (which usually means the intro paragraph)” This tip may sound useless, but you gotta keep reminding yourself throughout the whole science section to think plain and simple. I know that everything freaking looks intimidating, but when you do a lot of practice, you’ll find that it’s just playing around with words and charts. My last tip for science would be to sometimes read the answer choices first before going back to the passage or even to the questions cuz some questions don’t require you to even read the questions (BUT not always!) I’m specifically talking about those yes, yes, no, no questions…
I mean if you are someone like me who does better in math and science, you’ll be better off focusing on those 2 areas instead of trying to work on all areas. BUT having a good english(grammar) score definitely helps in boosting your score, and it’s the only area where you can improve rapidly! So take my unprofessional advice with a grain of salt… test it out yourself and find which method works best for you. Good luck!

Hey guys. Did you guys check the report? Can you tell me how many questions you missed for each section. My thing says N/A for that information. Also if any of you took the June Test… I have started another thread for that
