haha ok…i guess December. Hopefully it wont be a nightmare story.

Bump … Anyone committing in the midst of OVs?

Committed to Row at UPenn

Congrats rowingkid that is wonderful!!! A girl from my daughters school is there now rowing and she loves it!!!

How often do coaches and athletes commit to one another in the Ivy, and then the athlete get rejected? Just committed to an HYP school, and coach said he’ll use one of his slots on me…

It happens, particularly if you’re simply relying on a coach promise “to use one of his slots on me” without a likely letter. If your situation merits it, I’d hold-out for a likely letter before cutting any other schools loose as it formally involves the admissions office and more than a coach promise. Moreover, requesting one forces a coach’s hand (one way or the other) in the most salient manner possible. Finally, I’ll just assume away any true “disaster” at school after an ED/EA/SCEA application and receipt of an admission response.

Bumping this thread. I know the commitments are rolling in.
On Daughter’s boat (rower):
2 to Cornell
1 to Notre Dame
1 to Duke
1 to UCLA
1 to Syracuse

D committed to Michigan - rowing!

S committed to Columbia-HW rowing

Congrats to goplay and gracie03!!!

Are these all RECRUITED athletes (LLs/NLI) ? or walk-ons?

the 6 2012s on my D’s boats will all receive LLs (Cornell) or NLIs (UCLA, Notre Dame, Syracuse, Duke).

D commited to Duke - rowing. But I think this is a double reporting since the schools on imafan’s list look awfully familiar…
