2017 Lehigh RD Applicants' Discussion Thread

So do you guys think decisions will come out this week?

I hope so! I was talking to a current Lehigh student and they told me that last year they received their acceptance around this time.

Im banking on Lehigh so much. Idk what I’ll do if I dont get accepted

I am from California and I was admitted and invited to the diversity event. (They also offered to pay for plane tickets, which would have been nice to know before I planned my visit out east.) This is my second early offer but I am still waiting on some other schools.

Good luck everyone.

Just got my letter for the diversity thing. Real excited!

I’m banking on getting into Lehigh, it’s my dream school. I want to be able to go there more than anything. Honestly, even if I got in I don’t think I’ll be able to go just because of the cost, but I at least want the option. Someone please calm my nerves and chance me for the school? It would mean SO much! I am applying as undecided engineering…

GPA (weighted): 4.07
ACT: 28
SAT: Took them, didn’t send my scores.
SAT II: Math Level II - 660
EC: French Honors Society, three clubs at school that I was a member of for all four years, and I volunteered at a nursing home starting the spring of my junior year (once I got my drivers license and was able to transport myself) weekly, for roughly 3 hours per week (probably a little more). I’m still continuing to follow through with that. Also, I have been tutoring my friends little brother in math every now and then.
APs: My junior year I took AP Psychology (5 on the exam). I did not take any other APs that year, but I took honors physics and honors pre-calculus, and got As in both of them. My other classes were on the academic level, but I got As and A+s in them. This year, I’m taking AP Physics B, AP Calc BC, and AP Macroeconomics. This year I am also taking honors lit and honors abnormal psychology.
I would say that my essays were very strong, based on what others have told me. As for my recommendation letters, I was only able to read one of them, and it was PHENOMENAL…I’m going to guess that my others were good as well. I visited Lehigh once over the summer, and went again recently for a financial aid information session. I also have an Aunt who went to Lehigh. I’m also female…some told me that would help me as far as getting into engineering programs goes.
Please tell me what you guys think! I’m going crazy! Especially when I hear about other people getting admitted…

Hi InLoveWithLehigh!
I think you have a really good chance of getting accepted. Your ACT/SAT scores are a bit low and your ECs aren’t too amazing but you have a phenomenal GPA and as you said phenomenal recs with an amazing course load.
I’m really hoping for Lehigh too because its a great school with an amazing environment but as you said, the cost is a turn-off.

Donald 203: Thank you! I really, really hope I get in. I love the school so much, I honestly don’t care about getting accepted anywhere else. I just want Lehigh! lol. What program did you apply to?

Apart from your SAT II score, you’re application is well within the Lehigh range. As a girl in engineering, you will have an upper hand in admissions, and you can hope to get in. :)

Hey InLoveWithLehigh,
I hope we both get in. Lehigh is my number #1 and I don’t know what i would to do if i didn’t get in. You ACT is a point higher than mine but you are at least in the 25% unlike me with my 27. I think you have a good shot.

GPA: 3.4
ACT: 27
ECs: Loaded with leadership
APS: 7
4 this year
You have a better app than me, so hopefully you will get in.

InLoveWithLehigh -

I think you’ll be fine. Sorry I don’t get very into “chance me” threads anymore, but I guess in a summary I’ll just say you seem to be a good match.

As a side note, I’m excited for you all! I can’t believe that those of you guys who have been on this thread for the better part of a year will find out if you’re accepted in about a week or so. Regardless, you’ll all find somewhere you like. Lehigh was my number 1 school since I was a sophomore so I can understand the enthusiasm and the feeling that it’s your only option, but I promise if you don’t get in you’ll find somewhere that is pretty close!

Thank you to everyone! I know “chance me” posts are kind of old and common…but I really just needed to be calmed down a bit. I’ve been so worried these past few days, especially when I saw acceptance letters being posted online. I really appreciate the help

any prediction on when results will come out? also, did anyone not get the financial post card?

future doctor- I didn’t

I didn’t receive the FA postcard either, but I had turned everything in on time. It sounds like I’m in the same boat as many other people, I LOVE Lehigh and I really hope to get in. I got a 30 on my ACT and I have a 4.47 weighed GPA. I took ap language and ap comp gov last year and got 4s and this year I’m taking 5 ap classes. Hopefully we all get good news this week!

For people who have known being accepted, please join in the group! http://www.facebook.com/groups/164567590364704/

I never got a financial aid postcard, but all of my stuff was handed in on time as well

Decisions should be out this Thursday or Friday.
