<p>General Comments & Advice for Juniors: Guys…This is not as easy as you think it is. You need to work a lot…all these guys here who got into the top places worked really hard and are amazingly smart(with some awesome personalities) , I know people confident of hitting MIT, Stanford and missed into their safeties also…Study 1 suject and go to its highest level…be it even olympiads…and finally essays:) Btw…I hope I prove a sufficient example that SAT scores don’t matter much and the rest of you does.

<p>@quiverfox did you get accepted into stanford? If so, what makes you choose Berkeley over Stanford? Just curious.</p>

<p>Oh no…actually Stanford wait list…but I would have chosen Berkeley anyways cause I love a crowded atmosphere and the bustle at UCB is way more than that at stanford…besides the academics are equal at both…and stanfords more isolated, berkeley fits into City:)</p>

<p>Oh and UCB was first on my dream school list…Stanford , MIT 2nd and 3rd…:)</p>

<p>That’s great to hear. I got into UCB too, most probably attending it this fall. I know what you mean, all the colleges I applied to (Except Cornell and Stanford) were in/ close to major cities. What’s your prospective major? :)</p>

<p>Quiverfox, Stanford is not at all isolated as you think. Palo Alto is a lively place and it takes about 45 minutes to go to San Francisco on Caltrains.</p>

Also, you say you were wait listed at Stanford. Then, why did you write on the Stanford forum that you were rejected?</p>

<p>@goforitman…MIT was third on my list…but It is the best tech school in the world and nevertheless a DREAM school…there is a reason a man’s dejected(not a whiner) …Well my dad was also hell bent upon UCB …he’s one of those 70’s AT&T programmers. who used UNIX and all those books he learnt had a UC Berkeley in it( surprisingly not the other two):p.:)that’s why.</p>

<p>And about stanford…well when I checked at 3:28AM i was all groggy so I just read a sorry somewhere and shut the phone…and posted the same on the decisions thread…But later that day…I saw the full letter awake…thats when I realised that they gave a glimmer of hope(WL)…(but I was already overjoyed abt UCB) …so I just posted WL here…anyways UCB mostly…so nothing to worry:) </p>

<p>@ChubbyCheeks: Stanford’s Indeed situated in the heart of the silicon valley…WOW it’s been a dream since 6th grade to go to the silicon valley…but then again…isn’t Berkeley more of a city…closer to places…nearer to my extended family and stuff…So the choice for me was pretty obvious…:)</p>

<p>Going to attend - Maybe Dallas or Drexel. But if I get my choice of course in IIT or BITS, well I’ll stay back.</p>
