Ah, that makes a lot of sense, though it’s still asking a lot for those who have multiple admissions offers.
It is. My daughter said some were going directly from H to Y to P, not sure what order. You also do not have to stay the whole time at BDD. My daughter had to leave early due to an EC commitment.
If the date of yes weekend is postponed, does it mean that nobody will receive any early likely letters?

I heard some likely letters were released today?
Are likely letters released electronically or the old way (US Mail)?
Actually I’m not sure myself, It seems like its over a week period when they start sending letters out. I can’t tell based on previous year posts but maybe its through mail? And I don’t know when they started mailing out notifications.
I know some applicants received phone calls yesterday from the yale admission office regarding likely admission.
@Biotechgirl yea thats what I heard too. I heard the director personally calls you. I don’t think he would call all 100 applicants in 1 day though.
Wow. That would be insane. I never actual speak on my cell phone.
The AO’s make the calls. The calls are made before the letters arrive.
@Multiverse7 So the letters are confirmed to arrive by mail then? Do you know when the mails would’ve been received or if notifying is still ongoing?
Of course, I have zero expectations about getting a call or letter. I was just curious.
Yes, letters are sent in the mail. I have no idea about how far they are along in the process.
Interesting, never heard about this till today. Does anyone know if they mainly look at STEM achievements? Was wondering because my main faults in my gpa (~3.85) are from Non-stem classes.
I believe they are looking for students who fit the culture overall and can do well in humanities classes, too. That said, they have a special recruiter for STEM and I’m sure they’re aware that many awesome engineers aren’t so good at non-STEM classes.
They are trying to woo the top 100 STEM applicants in a pool of 25,000. This group of applicants are also kids that Yale feels will undoubtedly be admitted to HPSM and a few other top schools so they are going out their way to win them over. Only you know if this sounds like you.
@SinsOfAdmission Yea I was just worried because I had some really personal/familial issues the first semester of my soph year and it kinda dropped my gpa… I explained it in my additional information section. I just hope adcoms will read it. Not for just Yale YES-W but for all other colleges
@azndude Just remember this: There is no single path to success and opportunity. Those personal issues most likely made you a stronger, better person. If Yale happens, great. But if not, there are other awesome places waiting for you.
If it helps at all, a girl I know just got in and her last name starts with an A- maybe they are notifying people alphabetically?
