2018/2019 Season of Shows

Thought we would list the upcoming show seasons as we have done in years past. I will start as we found out the mainstage season today! :slight_smile:

Coastal Carolina University:

The Pillowman
The Full Monty
She Kills Monsters
Les Miserables
Our Town
A New Brain

The musicals at Texas State are:

Cabaret
Hunchback of Norte Dame

Not sure on plays yet.

Wright State:
Fall… The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Moonlight, Crazy For You, The Liar
Spring… Mother Courage, A Little Night Music, If/Then

The Hartt School at the University of Hartford

9 to 5 (this weekend and next)
Man of La Mancha
Dancing at Lughnasa
Little Women
Julius Caesar

@MTmom2015 I’ll likely be down to visit Joe and to see a show sometime next year. Let me know if you’ll be visiting for a show and maybe we can meet! Always a great line-up there!

SUNY Fredonia

Fall 2018
Noises Off
Bloody, Bloody Andrew Jackson

Spring 2019
Antigone
Anything Goes

These are mainstage, and there will also be several student-run productions planned at a future date.

My bad on the Hartt School showings of “9 to 5” - it’s next weekend (March 8 - 11) and not this weekend. Old age.

@lovetoact -

Is your child working on any of the shows? S17 is set for all but Anything Goes, I think.

I am planning a trip up in April to see Spring Awakening, assuming we can get rooms because it’s accepted student day.

For anyone doing late April accepted student visits to Hartt, La Mancha and Little Women are playing in rep, so if yout timing works you could see both!

  • does not include any of the approximately 43,920 (estimated - lol!) student productions that go up each year

@techmom99 auditions for next year for the performers will be the first week of school, so we’ll have to wait until August to know. He just did a student production this past weekend and he is a dramaturg for Spring Awakening. Unfortunately I don’t think we can make it all the way for that. His acapella group is performing in May so we might possibly take the trip up for that. Have a safe trip!

@lovetoact -

The tech kids had to put in their requests for next year’s shows before winter break. S17 was involved in set up, prep and strike on last weekend’s show but they didn’t need him during the show so we flew him home as a surprise birthday present for his dad (and as a present for his own birthday). I believe he will be doing something similar for Spring Awakening. As of now, I am going up with my 2 oldest children and their SO’s and we will be taking S17 off campus for a trip to Niagara Falls, which only my oldest son has ever been to. We are planning to see the show on Friday night.

New Season at Coastal Carolina University! (Season changed due to rights/tours coming out)

2018 Fall Musicals for Hartt will be Sweet Charity and Nunsense. No word on the plays yet. I am not enthusiastic about those choices, but whatever. You can’t love everything!

@lovetoact -

Spring Awakening was amazing. S17 saw it at the student preview and chose not to sit next to me when we saw it the next night.

CCPA @ Roosevelt U
Measure for Measure
Stage Door
Little Women (Musical)
Into The Woods
The Venetian Twins
Anything Goes

@gingersnap97 do you know exactly when Sweet Charity will be? I love that show and would kill to see it.

@eca1401 - No exact dates yet, but it will be the Mainstage fall musical, so that is typically end of Oct/beginning of Nov. - I haven’t seen it staged, just the movie. It may change my mind when I see it staged. Hartt spring musicals evidently are Rocky Horror Picture Show, All Shook Up and one more TBD. Still no confirmation about the straight plays for next year.
